Like the title says, in the campain you have to make a few choices that affect which missions will come up, and to get the General Warfield avatar you need to complete all 29 missions.

So.. How can you play the missions from other choices?

The missions archive will contain the missions you missed. I didn't notice these until after I completed the campaign, and I remember someone saying you have to finish the campaign before the alternate missions show up in the archive. So check your mission archive to see if the missions are there. You can tell they're new ones because they won't have any play time for any of the difficulties. If you don't see those missions, then I guess that means you really do have to finish the campaign before they show up.

Anyone else have this problem:
I finished the campaign all the way through, but obviously some missions were skipped because you can only choose one option for the colonists, one option for ghosts/spectres, so I went back and did those missions. Problem is, after I re-did the colonist mission, my campaign status got changed so that I was only finished up to the Tychus mission where he stole the Odin, and apparently have to do all of the missions again? I no longer have access to the last 6 missions or so

You can actually do the alternate missions straight from the mission archives before you beat the game. No need to load an old save or wait until you're finished with the campaign.

Edit: A litte clarification, the alternate mission appears in the archive right after you beat the mission you chose. IE I did the tosh mission right after I did the nova mission. Of course the game will only act like you beat the first one, but you can get credits/achievements and such.

someone correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I believe the secret mission CANNOT be played from the missions archive, unless you unlocked the secret mission on your initial playthrough.

I missed the secret, then re-did the Media Blitz mission in the Mission Archives (after beating the game) in order to get the secret. I got the secret, and I even got the message "SECRET UNLOCKED" on my screen, but the secret mission was not available

make sure you get the Media Blitz secret on your first time through! Otherwise you'll have to load up a save from before it, OR start the campaign over if you don't have one

Yeah from what I hear that is correct. I got the secret on the first shot (since I had read about it) so I can't verify myself, but I've seen numerous people say you can only get the secret mission the first time.

The way they set up the campaign is really dumb. They have it so you can only have one active play through at a time. Once you reload an old save then it becomes your active campaign and you lose everything else. If you want to go back to a previous play through then you need to save it at the spot you want to return to.

this is correct: my question is after I beat the game it came up and obviously said 25/26 done (which means i missed the secret mission) but how do i get the choice of

taking out the nydus network instead of the spires in the final missions -originally i took out the spire and that's the mission that's there now...
choosing to kill the terrans instead of the protoss for the colonists
choosing tosh over nova.

do i have to select that specific mission again?

nvm on armory upgrades i can use search feature!

Are you freaking kidding me.... So because I missed one little structure playing on Brutal, I now have to go back and redo half the damn game if I want that secret mission?

The mission you didn't select is there to select in the archives.

No. You can load a victory save from an earlier campaign mission(before char, best to reload the one before Media Blitz), replay Media Blitz and get the secret mission, play the secret mission on brutal and/or lower to get the achievements, then reload the victory save from All In. You will get all achievements with the secret mission if you do them, but you won't have the ability to replay it after you load All In victory again.

Data point:

- I played through Media Blitz and probably half a dozen more missions (without going to Char) before I knew there was a secret. I did not get the secret on my first try.

- I then went back right away and did the secret through the archives, without reloading a save.

- The secret mission was immediately available to me, and I beat it.

- After finishing the campaign with that save file, I have 26/26.

So I don't think you need to do it the first time.
