so there is a little spoiler here and im giving a warning to those who havent played campaign at and wants to experience itself. this doesnt tell the ending of the game but it does reveal a little side story
so i just completed the campaign cause my guest pass died and had noting to do lol.
and now i have a question about smoking hanson that was about to get it on with ol jimmy boy.
evil: now if you choose to side with the protoss and complete the mission you get the cinematic video of jimmy going inside the lab and finding out hanson is infected... now my question is do you think that its a cliche moment of when she told jimmy she was close to finding the cure she meant it (despite the toss not finding a cure despite more advanced tech.). what if she already harbored the infection yet devised some sort of antidote for temporary use that keeps her human and not zerg?? or was it an m night shamylan shit where maybe she infected herself to get "revenge" on jimmy for choosing to cleanse the colonist??
discuss and hold your ground man. the zerg are doing...terrible...terrible damage

i was pretty shocked about what happens after the mission if you side with protoss
I didn't necessarily find it the evil choice though
it seems more like whichever choice you make ends up being the good choice

i'm the only one out of all of my friends to pick the evil choice. i didn't really think it was evil i thought it would be good to ally with the protoss. just like the good ol' bw campaign

the SC2 story choices are made deliberately vague.
if u chose to purge, ur choice is vindicated by the evidence of widespread infections.
if u chose to fight the protoss, ur choice is vindicated by the lack of visible infections.
but a prior dialogue from hason showed that finding a cure is impossible based on conventional wisdom.

She might have been able to because the protoss are anything but innovative. I still sided with the protoss on the grounds that we need them to fight the zerg and hybrids...hanson not so much.

it would be nice if they actually made what you do have an effect, so if you do the purge perfectly she doesn't go psychotic on you (IE save everyone who isn't infested already), or vs protoss, same goes, if you let the whole place burn and only save your base and the evacuees there she's a lot less congenial at the end.

i dont really think siding with the protoss is evil, its just practical. People have been looking for cures to infestation so 4~ years, what are the odds that this chick will find them before the protoss put it up your butt

While it was a fun tribute to the zombie genre, I didn't like Zerg infestation turning them into zombies. I thought it cheapened Zerg's race.

I chose to side with Hanson because I thought something would happen between her and Raynor.

oh well from the trailer it looked like hanson was making a move a raynor so I thought raynor was gonna get some so naturally I sided with the chick but disappointed that nothing really happened

IF you talk to tosh while doing the hanson mission line you can safely assume she has been either the cause of the infection or helped it spread. The finding a cure is mostly bullshit on her part.
There is no cure for infestation no matter how much doctor boobs works at it, as for the part where hanson is killed i think she was either long time infected or did it then and there to find a cure. Either way is grim. Probably one of my favourite parts of the campain is the siding with protoss purge and following movie.
I dont think it cheapened the zerg race as a whole. More like a zerg infection based virus probably bred up by the confederacy or something similar.
Thats why Tosh says she is a honeytrap and that you shouldnt look at the rampant infestation that is currently going on but more what happened before that point. most likely this infestation is human and the only zerg present where just interested at the results rather than the cause of the infestation.

Actually she does find the cure, in the Starcraft 2 "movie", found in the DVD that comes with the collector's edition, which is all the cinematics spliced together with narration in between to fill in the gaps from the missions, the narrator states that Hanson does find the cure if you side with her. However in the campaign itself it never states if Hanson finds the cure or not, just that she leaves and no visible signs of infection are present.
As for the protoss ending, I think Hanson locked herself in the lab in desperation trying to find a cure for the infection and presenting it to Jim before all of the colonists are killed and in the process manages to accidentally infect herself or something along those lines.

No way, it is way cooler to assume that she goes insane and infests herself so that she can die "suicide by cop" style at the hands of Raynor, simultaneously punishing him in the process. It accounts for the way she taunts him saying "will you enjoy it!?" etc. It also gives her a way to feel closer to her friends and family, dying infested and thereby knowing what they went through when she was locked in the lab.
Also, it creepy as fuck. This was the only cinematic that made me feel any emotion other than "Wow I'm sure bored of these cinematic". Jesus.

I did mass viking on both missions, won no problem (even on brutal).

Haven's fall was so much easier for me. But that was probably because I stubbornly insisted on going for marine/medic instead of vikings. i was thinking WTF how do you stop these protoss fleets?!?! and couldn't save any of the villages.
My eyes were popping when the game told me that i had to kill the mothership at the end. fortunately i still had some minerals left so i build like 20 turrets and massacred it LOL.
