I have a question to the OP, do you have any protips to finishing Overmind Dead Body (Zeratul overmind level in 20 minutes on hard)? I tried it twice and I restarted once cause it was obviously too slow and I zerged through it the second time even though I knew I'd taken too much time just to see how "fast" I was and ended up at 32 minutes. I can't seem to find a good balance between getting a force large enough to kill the zerg bases (5-6 colossus, 8-10 stalkers to kill mutas, Zeratul for DPS and a HT to oneshot Overseers with Feedback is usually enough to advance at a decent pace) and defending my base at the same time. It sounds to me like you're attacking too early. Just wait in your base and mass up. When 20 minutes getting closeish, wait for the next zerg attack, and then push out directly afterward. You should be able to finish before the next wave. If you don't have enough units, you may be able to run everyone in in front of Zeratul to tank damage and have him blink straight for the circles.
All I did was make colossus/tiny army tank the whole thing and i use blink effectively with zeratul so he gets on top of the seal without receiving any damage lol. 2 of the cords you don't even need to attack I believe..

for Raid Night, just go for units u might want to use for All In mission and go straight to Char, it's Normal mode so there were absolute no problems. [my Techs weren't even at halfway too] What I did was I did every single mission except the Zeratul, but it still totaled under 5 hours

Yes, Since it said Normal, mind as well take it easy as possible lol, You can technically finish this campaign in normal mode in 4 hours. [each missions seem to have shortcuts for beating it faster]
On July 31 2010 14:17 Cofo wrote:Congrats on you're achievement, OP! I'm working on it... I'll get there some day For the raid night achievement, does it have to be on your first play-through? Or does it just add up your best times (meaning you can replay missions for better times)?
It adds all your mission times. And if it's under 8 hours, you get the achievement after u beat All In

What I did was make colossus/stalkers/zealot army to just handle handful of Zergs in the front line while I used Zeratul's blink effectively to land right on top of the seal, even if hes damaged, when he lands on the seal hes invincible lol, and after his health regens blink again to undetected spot and go for the next core.

i think it's total 1590.. blizzard has a lot to fix i believe.. Mar sara 125/125 colonist 160/160 convert 160/160 rebellion 195/195 artifact 195/195 prophecy 160/160 final 160/160 storymode 425/435 the missing 10 is the brutal 25 missions glitch/bug If u add them all up it's 1590, where i should have 1580 as in the screenshot. so I'm sitting at 1580. I have no idea lol

Ugh, I set an alarm for 15 minutes, macroed up hard (about 8 colossi, 15 stalkers and a couple of zealots to use up minerals) and pushed out after the alarm, when the mission was finished I got the verdict of 24 minutes :/
Ninjablinking works very well but you also have to micro your stuff to not kill buildings and instead just push on. I should be able to do it.

Managed to shave down to about 21 minutes + loose change (9, 25, 1 seconds respectively) but I need another 60 from somewhere... :/

You have to complete 25 missions on brutal WITH ALL SIDEOBJECTIVES to gain this Achievement afaik.
I played the campain in brutal and got the 25 brutal achievement 2 missions later than the 25 hard achievement ... and i only missed 2 missions with sideobjectives ... so thats my educated guess

I think its faster.

Ninjablinking works very well but you also have to micro your stuff to not kill buildings and instead just push on. I should be able to do it. maybe you are doing it wrong. in beginning rush zeatul to the base, use zeartu,l colloscii and 3 stalkers to get mid platform. expan while macroing stalkers. push to right platform. [go back to defend when timer is down, but in base stalker and cannons can defend well] after you get the top right, move back everything and push top left. Just blink to beacon first, by the time he is done talking you can blink behind the field. I did this last night on hard, 18:47

That seems rather wasteful, by the time I am in the top right corner and the third tendril (I usually push that way and go counter clockwise) it's a much shorter push to just get to the last tendril than going all the way around. I guess it depends on what you mean with "mid platform" but what I usually do is grab the high ground expo that's right next to the main you get right away, push right and grab the free cash, get the second tendril then go home and defend a wave, get some tech and a couple more units, then push top right for the third and fourth tendril (the fourth one, at the roughly 10-11 o clock position is the only one with flyers so I take that last with units tanking damage and Zeratul just ninjaing in to the circle).
Will try grabbing the 6 oclock tendril and the 3 oclock one as fast as possible after the first attack wave (which is only unburrowing zerglings, no worms, so you can't shut it down with Zeratul) and then macroing up to go clockwise instead, I guess there is easier ninja blinking that way since the distance between the 10 and 12 oclock is so short.
Very frustrating but I shall have my portrait!

Nineteen minutes, eleven seconds, booyah. I can probably shave another minute or so off it I just made super certain Zeratul wasn't going to die during the last bit cause I knew I had time leftover.
My modus operandi:
+ Show Spoiler +Basically, before the first attack wave, kill off the zerg stuff on your expansion, then expand there while waiting for the first timed attack wave, use the HT you get from the warp gate to snipe the overseer that's guarding all the infested terrans, bring an observer or a couple colossus (I went with colossus to guard the HT cause I didn't want him to die) to spot the high ground, blink Zeratul up, blink Zeratul down, grab the tendril, blink back up, blink down and go home to your base with probably a minute to spare before the first attack. You should have a couple of stalkers and your tech buildings by now. Defend the wave (I got super lucky and it was only one worm that was where I was keeping Zeratul, got no zerg spawn from it, just locked it down and killed it). Use the HT and the three stalkers + any stalkers you have leftover combined with your two colossus to push the left side, push up the ramp and into the zerg base that is beyond the 2nd obelisk (abuse the high ground if you want to, I just marched in through the choke), you can ignore the zerg camping by the robotics bay. Make sure to blink-kill the broodlord I encountered here, dunno if it's camped or patrols. Clean out that base and by the time you are done your second wave of stalkers (bringing it to about 12-15 which is PLENTY) and colossus (you should have 4-6) will arrive about the same time as the next attack wave (ignore defending your base, obviously). Push down the ramp into the flyer camp, there's many mutas here and I encountered one broodlord, just snipe it with 5-6 stalkers then pull them back to the rest of your force for when the mutas attack (I pulled four or five or so in one go). Slowly crawl your obs/colossi up the ramp to spot, nuke off any spine crawlers so you can kill the spore crawlers safely while you Feedback any overseers, blink Zeratul into the circle (you can basically blink him once as soon as he is up the ramp and he can run the last bit without trouble at all). In the end I think I overcomplicated things a lot by being too careful, two colossi can hold their own against the infested terrans forever basically so pushing through and going around the cliff was super unecessary. Make sure you upgrade weapons as well. The pulls are very short so you can creep a couple of steps every few seconds and never even be touched by zerglings all the while outranging any static defenses, stalkers for sniping air units, let Zeratul be a ninja and grats on your achievement.

i got my 25 brutal mission achievement at the mission where you choose to get rid of air for all in without killing the leviathan... so you're wrong

I finished them today, am quite happy about it. About the Hard/Brutal 25 achievements, I found out that if you reload into a mission and finish it it will count it as a new mission. I was at 22 hard when playing Maw of the Void, saved near the end because I wanted to do 3 differnt things, then loaded the save after finishing and at the end of the third load I got the 25 hard achievement.

Q3 2012 and SC2 still displays three missions as not being completed, though two of them were completed on hard difficulty and it is also logged in.
