Up the Nerazzuri yeoooo I find it hard to objectively watch my team, nerves are too much of a factor. I think it really ebbed and flowed, there weren’t too many periods where the sides were trading. Either Inter were bossing it and comfortable, or Barca were But overall I felt it a real 50/50 Also fuck me Yamal gave me peak Kaka flashbacks tonight. I’d feel comfortable enough in a game, except when that ONE guy was on the ball, and it was like that tonight. Fine, fine, fine, fine, oh shit Yamal’s got the ball in a good area! Fine, fine… He’s some player, even if he doesn’t improve at all as he gets older. He’s already absolutely top tier at 17, even if he just maintains his current level he’s a top, top player. Tonight, especially as things went on, Barca were tidy and doing their usual thing, but ALL their danger towards the end was all through him. I think if a few others showed up to spread that load we would have really been in trouble. As a neutral and disliker of the PSG project I wanted Arsenal to win anyway, but I also now want them to win as a better potential matchup for us

Incredible, I’m sad it was my team because I just can’t quite enjoy in the same way I do as a neutral! We’ve seen some great ones. But most of the ones that stick in my mind are big comebacks. Team A was miles ahead in the first leg, team B makes an incredible comeback in the second. This one was just ebb and flows, both legs back and forth all the time. Like two boxers in a slugfest Not too much time wasting, diving or controversial ref calls overall too, great stuff!

Of course a Forest fan would say that :p Still rooting for you and your boys in this home stretch! I think Inter are a breath of fresh air at this level, they play rather differently. You could obscure the identity of players etc and see quite a lot of similarity between Bayern and Barca from our matches. But I guess it’s that contrast and ‘styles make fights’, if tons of teams played like Inter I could see that being drab as well. In a way I think we’re lucky we do actually. Playing that system I think somewhat protects us from losing key players. 2 number 9s up top, actual specialist wingbacks, centre backs who are ideal for a 3 in the back. If I’m a recruitment guy for another top club, that’s going to almost invariably play some 4-3-3 variant and I look at Inter, I’m gonna wonder if they slot in as well in another environment. The wingback especially is a strange beast. Some are as good at regular fullback duties, but for some the wingback position is just perfect for their attributes and they hit a level they can’t replicate in a 4. Then our midfield is either too old to take a punt on, or basically unsellable for how the fans would take it. Barella is one of the best 8s around and could do a job basically anywhere, but come on. Selling one of the Crown Jewels, who’s Italian, vice-captain and really beloved as big part of the heart and soul of the side? Probably not happening unless finances are dire.

I don't get to see them very often. How do they play when lower level teams sit back against them? I take it they are decent with possession too.

I’d say we’re pretty decent in possession, not as metronomic as other teams. Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan and Barella can all pick a lock if needs be. It’s a bit less keep passing it around endlessly to drag the opponent out of shape a little, more doing so just enough so that someone can break the lines or beat a man, as we’ve got plenty of options there. Plus we’ve got the option of Calhonoglu or the wing backs throwing balls into the box endlessly and players who are strong in the air, so there’s a few options if teams try to park the bus!
