Uff what a strange evening of footie. Germany had Italy reeling in the first half. That was the most dominant German footie since BRAGER 1:7. Second half was ... lets quickly forget about that second half. The other games all going to overtime and two even to penalties. Nailbitingly close.

I fell asleep at half time! That first half was insane from Germany though. They looked like a Youtube video playing at 125% speed for parts of it.
Man I like Poch and hope he does well, but I did have to laugh at the US losing to both Panama and Canada this window given the wider climate especially!
Trent to Real seems it may be fast becoming a reality. Don’t think the lad deserves some of the backlash he’s getting from some Liverpool supporters, ridiculous.
As a club neutral/Brit-biased I’m finding it quite exciting to see more players from these shores plying their trade abroad, long overdue!
yeah its ridicilous the hate he gets. He has always given everything... I think Klopp leaving and no strengthening in January will have changed quite a few Liverpool players' heads
dorival junior sacked as brazil nt manager, no surprises there.
wonder if the job is big enough for someone like mourinho to take over in the summer, else domestically, filipe luis (yes, the one from chelsea) is doing a good job at flamengo.

I think I predicted before the season that it'll take Barca at least one season or maybe even two before they're ready to grind out a title challenge vs the current Real Madrid roster. I think the only chance they had was Real imploding while trying to fit all the star players to the pitch.
Real did have some growing pains earlier on and are still a bit underwhelming at times, but Barca is something ridiculous like 17-3-0 after the new year. That's some Flick magic mixed up with La Masia kids breaking through, I guess.

Quite a close race. Barca under Flick evolved incredible quick but they were always Top2 material. Real with Kilian in the mix.. could have gone either way. And it kinda did. First few games they were all over the place. The decider probably beeing the game on May 11th.

With the caveat I’ve only really seen a handful of Barca’s games this season, and by coincidence they’ve been some of Barca’s best games. When they’re on it, they’re on it and their A-game to me looks better than Real’s. They feel a better-balanced side to me, most of their pieces all fit, at Real Carlo has done a great job to get them running at their level, but it feels he’s putting some round pegs in square holes.
I hope it does come down to a proper decider and neither just drop the points elsewhere, always fun when you get a real title-decider head-to-head game late in a season.
As an aside Barca have, through their own financial incompetence ended up doing what they should have done years ago.
Great academy, and not just that, they already had blooded some of the quality prospects from it. It’s not like La Masia had a few barren years, and even the best academies have peaks and troughs.
It’s like they wasted money, had to sell off some valuable, valuable assets like media rights etc to finance big transfers, until they ended up under such tight sanction that they are having to rely on academy products which they could have done anyway
That is insane if you think about it, imagine they win and play in the euro league! I think group stage qualifiers first but still, thats money they def. can use right now.
