Forest are grinding out results in a series of difficult but very close games.

Newcastle, however, are wrecking teams at the moment and look really, really strong.

Forest should be aiming for that Europa Conference place really, Europa League if we're really good and really lucky.

Newcastle should be aiming to compete with City for that 4th spot.

As far as I've understood, there's a strong chance that PL is going to have 5 UCL spots next year. No idea what the conditions are though, probably some weird club coefficient stuff again.

The winter transfer window will be interesting for City. I guess they could be out for a DM, RB and maybe some all-around midfielder at the very least. Someone might make some big money if they're willing to sell.

Funny thing would be Chelsea playing some 6D chess and offloading some of their massive roster to City. Maybe the Lavia transfer turns out to be a good idea after all.

And why didn't Murillo play, I brought him into my FPL

Murillo was injured in the warm up today .

Forest have somehow developed this knack of winning every single tight, close game. Its less about individuals, although Murillo and Milenkovic have both been incredibly good.
Nuno is the main reason. Tactically he is as good as anyone in the EPL.

Nuno is definitely a great coach but isnt Chris Wood the reason? Would you win games without him?

Yeah we would imo.
Chris Wood is a great finisher but the credit for most of his goals should be shared around, its not like he always plays a huge part in the buildup, he's just there to stick it away.

The last 3 games before today, Wood didn't score and we still won. Elanga has got 3 goals and an assist in the last 4 games.

You dont know what a big quality that is and also important for football... Good strikers are rare to come by

Forest remind me of Mourinho ball. So rock solid on defense and can put away chances. Our rematch will be glorious in 2 weeks.

Slot needs to put this one to bed.
I'm worried about what he'll do if he can't lol.
He must have mentioned that loss about 10 times since in interviews.

The easiest way to explain it is that we had Wood in this kind of form last season, but we sucked because our defending was shit.
Introducing Milenkovic and giving Nuno the preseason is what has changed since then, our attack is exactly the same as it was last season.

It was a special case of CL having more spots to be filled so they gave the two best countries that year an additional spot.
Guess in the future they'll regulate through the standard 5-year UEFA ranking again

AC Milan sacked Fonseca. They're 5 points from qualifying to Europe, so it could still be a salvageable season if somebody manages to bring their performances up a bit.

I'm almost certain he talks about it after every single game/interview he gives. It's been definitely more than 10 times. Though I think he feels better about it considering y'all are in great form and 2nd in the table.

Also, Slot's entire 2024 (Feyenoord and Liverpool) had one single loss with an 80% win rate. No wonder the Forest loss lives rent free in his head.

City too far behind, Chelsea incosistent, Arsenal without Saka for a long time... I really don't want to jinx it but I just can't see who will catch us this season.

Wood scored 14 in 31 last season.
This one he has 11 in 19. Isnt that much much better?

Far less deserving Knights of the Realm, and the whole honours system is an anachronistic relic to begin with.

He’s done a lot structurally to help rebuild the national side and various structures within the FA as well.

The England manager is bigger than being a mere sporting coach, perhaps that shouldn’t be the case, it’s handling the media, it’s being that role model figurehead etc. Perhaps it’s the same elsewhere, can only really speak to the media culture I’m familiar with.

He did come up a bit short in crucial moments on the pitch, but he was excellent in those other aspects and really rebuilt public perception of the English national team from being spoiled primadonas to that of likeable young men. He spoke rather well on social issues as well, to the degree he was getting flak towards the end for being ‘woke’.

Not to be a pessimist, can they sustain that? They’ve definitely stepped up their level this season, but for me they’ve made a jump to the best of mid-table/challenging for top 6 level, they’re just getting 3 points more often than not in the 50/50 games.

Hey I’d love to see them maintain this kind of position, and it’s part of the beauty of the game that intangible qualities can overcome various odds.
