Would like more equitable distribution of incomes and changes to economic models of teams, but I really like the overall system. I agree. It's just that the big clubs have exact opposite interests. Investment decisions at the English big six have been made with champions league playoffs for every season in mind. If they're not getting that via the existing channels why not buy straight into matches with Real Madrid and Barcelona? I can understand the English teams wanting this, because they literally cannot all fit in the CL at the same time, but Barca and Real or Juve for example are all but guaranteed CL anyways. It kinda feels unnecessary for them from that sense. Obviously the teams are imagining this super league on top everything else instead of replacing something the equation changes a bit. It's actually quite funny that PSG would not take part, as they're one of the worst offenders for money out of nowhere and subsequent success by method of completely overwhelming resources in every other regard.

the only way to remove all chances of this happening is have all the governing bodies straight up reject the idea, like they have now. i dunno if psg and bayern being approached is legit but id be interested in hearing why theyve rejected the proposal, because they ran the risk of losing money vs other big clubs. maybe the arsenal and tottenham spots were originally supposed to be them? that would make sense

No one in England would do that either because our league gives the most money bar none, not even the billions on offer could offer more im sure. Anyway, watch this space i guess, i think its dead now though after the domestic competition bans.

what i dont understand is how if this league is being backed by an institution like jp morgan, they lacked the foresight to do their due diligence on whether this would be accepted by the related bodies? like, who are the geniuses who legitimately thought that people would be ok with this? this wasnt the announcement of some idea they brainstormed while having a few beers, they actually have an investment budget and have put in the legwork. fuck me if thats all it takes to work in jp morgan i might put in an application

If the UEFA and national federations don't accept it the super League won't happen and they don't have to finance it.

We won the European Cup twice in a row. We've more right to be there than Spurs or Arsenal lol. The first thing the EPL should do is a massive fine and deduct 100 points from any team involved for the next 2 seasons they spend in the Premier League. The EFL should refuse to have them too so they have to go to the Conference. Stop their players playing in international competitions. Just go straight for the harshest possible measures. Tempt their players away. Give them a choice to void their contracts and leave immediately. Also, praise Leicester and West Ham, our new overlords.
