Half a billion dollars value...
Houston Rockets superstar James Harden is acquiring a minority stake in the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash organization, according to multiple industry sources.
Harden, who in 2017 signed a then-NBA record $228 million dollar contract extension with the Rockets that runs through the 2022-2023 season, is expected to acquire a 5% stake in the organization, sources said.
This new 5% acquisition will value the organization at well over $475 million, according to sources.
The ownership group is led by majority owner Gabriel Brener, who acquired that control share of the organization from AEG in 2015 for an undisclosed amount.
Brener had previously been a minority shareholder in the organization dating back to 2008. Other members of the ownership group include former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya, Portland-based philanthropist and investor Jake Silverstein, and Houston-based businessman Ben Guill.
No members of the current ownership group will be leaving as a result of Harden’s acquisition.
The organization oversees both the MLS and NWSL clubs, as well as BBVA Stadium, where both clubs play.
It is expected that the transaction will be announced publicly in the coming days. A spokesperson for Dynamo declined to comment.

Pre season friendlies are about as meaningless as a transfer fee is in 2019. I remember under Ancelotti we lost all but 1 of our pre season games and went on to open the season with 6-0 6-0 8-0 and won the double.
Also if we value pre season games now, Bayern must really be in trouble losing to Arsenal xd

I offer nothing more than hype for what is to come and the reminder that I still exist at this stage. I tend to ignore the pre season.

I don't think it has been mentioned here yet...
Arsenal signed a 18-year-old St Etienne center back William Saliba for something around 25-30 million pounds. Looks like they're really playing the long game with these youngster signings.

I think I complained here before about losing contact with my local club living out the country. I bought a shirt and a club fleece for my girlfriend last time I was in England. But I'm not sure I could name a player in our squad or even the manager without googling it after Tisdale left us. It was an aging defender who took over from him but I can't remeber his name. Still Exeter City will always be part of who I am and I wear the shirt proudly.
The Champions League should be pretty interesting this year. I could even begin to call it now.
Edit: After checking there's only one name on our team sheet I recognize and it's Dean Moxey who at one point was playing Premier League football with Crystal Palace. That's pretty cool that he's come back to us now he's gettig a litte older. It happens to us all.
Edit a little bit more: Aparently we didn't even make the play offs last year. That was the season before. That's how out of touch I am.

I don't even watch pre-season friendlies. They are boring and useless.

Maybe he just meant the results are uesless, but yeah it is just for getting fit and seeing the youth play.
Chelsea vs Barca on Tuesday in Japan will be fun game.

I can see how preseason friendlies are interesting if it's your own club playing and you're excited to see how new players/coaches do etc. But for the neutral spectator it's honestly crap and I would never watch one. There's nothing on the line, nothing intense about the match, players attitudes completely different from a competitive game, the crowd behaving like they're at a picnic in the park etc. Don't see why anyone would waste time on that.

Zidane doesn't even want Bale. Looking forward to his exit.
|
"Bale did not play tonight because the club is working on his exit. I hope it is imminent, if it happens tomorrow it would be great."
That answer is so direct. I love it.

isnt it actually counterproductive to make it so well known that you dont want this player? other clubs will know you are basically desperate to move the guy that they'll just lowball the shit out of you and you have no leverage

Yeah unless the fee is agreed and already paid per se then you can say but still, if Bale now doesn't agree terms with said club as i assume that is what is left to do, they are stuck with him then. Bayern's Thiago said before the game last night they would welcome him...wonder if Bayern are taking him....or maybe Atletico at a discounted price?

I don't understand why Zidane hates James so much. In my opinion James always was better than Isco. He could help in a lot of matches.

i think he'd do himself a disservice to agree to go to china. the money would be great, of course, but he needs top flight football to keep himself in shape if he still wants to play at a high level and in world/europe tournaments.
