Any coach would be pissed at a player refusing to come on Does stuff like this give any grounds for releasing Bale due to contract breach? I'd like to think there's certain level of participation and cooperation required for that hefty salary. Edit: I guess one of the key aspects is whether he just doesn't want to play or refuses to play. So far the phrasing has been "didn't want to play", I think.

Any coach would be pissed at a player refusing to come on https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49080786 Changed to; Zidane: "Gareth didn't come on because he didn't want to. He said that the club was working on his exit and that's why he didn't come on. Gareth is a Real Madrid player, he'll train as normal today and we'll have to see what happens tomorrow". So its like half and half, so imo both sides are wrong now lol. Zidane shouldn't tell the media this and Bale should not suggest he should not come on.

Yet, Bale basically gave Zidane a finger by not wanting to come on. The way Bale has been acting at Real since day 1, he should have been dropped to the 2nd team for ages already. He is a spoiled child. Imagine us saying to our bosses "nah I dont want to come to work today." We would get fired immediately, no pay, no nothing. I dont see why footballers who already earn thousand times more than us should be allowed to do that. This will only grow player power

The goal Bale scored in the champions league final and the one in the Super Copa Del Rey i think or even the Copa Del Rey vs Barca was something of sheer beauty. What you can maybe argue is that Bale has also got a body that has broken down on him and has not tried to adapt to the cultures of Spain. Even though clearly Florentino valued him over Ronaldo and Zidane as we witnessed!

I seriously dont believe Bale will ever be considered a legend by the club and by the fans of the club. Also lol at Florentino. He definitely regretted his decision several times over last season.

A lot of fans already only meme about Bale not speaking Spanish after 6 years and him being a Golf player who plays football. So no, I don't think they will remember him as a legend. I think Bale biggest mistake was when minutes after winning the CL final and scoring two goals, he complaining about Zidane and not playing enough. Fans have still not forgiven him for that. (And after that, his last season was terrible, when he was considered CR sucessor)

It's probably one of these things that get brought up once things aren't working out. The same went for Mourinho staying in hotel rather than moving over while managing ManU.

Eriksen is still well liked by Ajax fans and one of the reasons is that he learnt Dutch really fast and could chat with Dutch fans and give interviews in Dutch. Johan Cruijff is admired as an icon of Barça, not only for his accomplishments but also for his appreciation of Catalan culture (although he butchered the language... but he butchered Dutch too :'D) I mean, if you show it on the field, it's generally forgiven if you otherwise show no involvement, but if you show an appreciation of your new club and city, fans are far more willing to forgive flaws. And Bale has shown no appreciation of Madrid, and has plenty of flaws.

If he can master his finishing then watch out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRzIifhFX3s TBH that was one of the most unimpressive All Touches and Skills videos I've ever seen. Usually when people produce such videos it's of a great game for them where the player was on fire the whole game. Pulisic had like 2 good scenes in this one while the rest were stuff like backpasses and throw ins and 50/50 challenges where nobody won the ball ![]() Anyways. I'm really curious how Pulisic will work out. Always liked him since I first heard about him. He allways acted as an professional which sadly is something to point out nowadays especially among younger players. As you said he has the speed and he can dribble. He definitely has the potential to become something great. His biggest problem isn't his finishing though but his mentality in game. It's an aspect where he really regressed the last 1 1/2 years since he wasn't a starting player for Dortmund anymore. What does it help you if you always try the difficult dribble and lose the ball while your teammate is standing in prime position completely unmarked but doesn't get the service. That's why he wasn't among the best dribblers in Bundesliga anymore last season.

Because without Asension they only have Bale and Lucas Vasquez in that position. Or will they buy a new player? what position would that be?

He did one good run in that game and his direct pace is pretty good, still seems very raw for a guy who has like over 100 appearances in Bundesliga though lol. Here's hoping he hits the ground running and dominates for us though we are going to need it :D
