Robbo got touch on the ball, pushed it away. The attacker saw that and went for a full contant while pre-emptively diving. If Robbo didn't get the ball and if attacker didn't go for a full dive even before the contact, it could be argued to be within the reasonable error margin. Now it looks like the very case VAR should remedy. Looking at it now, it may not be Robbo getting the ball after all, tough to tell. It's a dive by Callejon before the contact even happens, which makes it very dubious, but it's not at least as bad as I though earlier. Probably still should be called off with VAR because of the dive, but it gets more on the grey area at least.

What's a Robbo?
Nice results in our group! Was hoping for a tie between Valencia and Chelsea, but the actual result is the next best thing.

hm I really thought I had posted more about haaland but apparently it was just one post.
Norway's future is bright man.. Ødegaard is 20 and is looking like a top 10 team starter already. Haaland is 19, and while it's fair to mention he is playing in Austria, has 11 goals in 7 league games, is the third youngest player to ever score a hattrick in the champions league (beaten only by Rooney and Raul) and the youngest player ever to score a hattrick in one CL-half. He's tall and strong (191, 87 kg of pure muscle, at 19), fast, smart, and is good at finishing with both feet, everything you want in a striker tbh. If Solskjær stays with united, I picture him being one of his first signings (Solskjær convinced Haaland to join him at Molde before he went to United and before Haaland went to Salzburg, they have a very good relationship). John Carew was probably about equally big of a talent, but he never really took it seriously, was never fully professional. Haaland however is fully dedicated to becoming as good of a player as he possibly can become, just like Ødegaard is. Then defensively, we also have Kristoffer Ajer (21 years old, already played 54 league matches for Celtic, 196 cm tall, certainly a big talent), and Sander Berge (21 years old, already played 56 league matches for belgian champions Genk and from what I hear is arguably their best player, supposedly Sevilla wanted to buy him but Genk priced him out of the market, 195 cm tall) for the D-DM positions. Basically a complete D-DM-AM-S line of potential world class players (that's maybe a bit generous towards Ajer, whom I think is the weakest of the four - still real good though), all aged 21 or younger..
And the amazing thing, which makes me confident in them, is their level of professionalism. They're not cocky jerks, not the party animal wastes his talent type, but they all really seem smart and dedicated to the cause of becoming a world class football player. Of course injuries can happen, but barring that, I really think all 4 will end up great.

Hes the son of Alf-Inge Haaland.. That guy played for Forest when I was a kid! I think I have his autograph somewhere.

So can we expect another golden generation out of Norway?

player material should be at least as good as the 90s, I think better tbh, but back then we had a really cohesive team unit with a brilliant manager who picked just the right players for the right roles. I mean we did have some very legit defenders back then, but overall the team consistently overperformed compared to the individual quality of the players. Also some good strikers, tore andre flo, solskjær, carew to a lesser degree and later on.. But we never had an Ødegaard level creative offensive player (I mean erik mykland is great and all), and prolly never a Sander Berge level defensive midfielder either.
In Norway Haaland first really made his mark when he scored 4 goals in 20 minutes on away field against one of the better Norwegian teams when he was 17. I mean who really knows what'll come of him, but at least here, he has shown a pretty unique talent for scoring goals. I've never seen him do something flashy, but he really has the killer instinct..

Do you know youngster Tobias Børkeiet? Think he has a future on the national team?

Hm hard to say, right now I see him mostly regarded as a defensive midfielder and he'll prolly find himself behind Sander Berge for his entire career, seeing how they are about equal age. He does play for the u21 team, but I think he'll need a very positive development + slight positional change to really have a shot.

Well, at least we're not the only team to blow a 2-2 lead vs a weaker team

Damn, PSG leading already - like that

Can anybody figure out how that PSG - Real Madrid Militao handball happened? I'm just not sure sure what he's trying to achieve there and where his hands should be while doing that. It doesn't look intentional, but it doesn't look very natural to me either.
|
It isn't intentional, its just I have my hands somewhere away from my body without really thinking about the consequences of it, and the new rules should go after that. Tho that one might have been bad enough to even be illegal under the old rules, however it all doesn't matter if VAR doesn't bother to interfere. Just baffling, because they got the Bale handball right.

How is Benzema's goal offside, but offside Pogba participating in WC final FK goal is okay?
|
With that kind of performance, Madrid will lose to most Europa League teams. It is, as if I'm watching Barca playing around with Leganes. Luckily only 3-0.
|
Because Pogba didn't actually interfere with Mandzukic while Vasquez did interfere with the defenders.
