Pecking order seems to be:
Red Bull Ferrari Mercedez Aston Martin Alfa Romeo Alpine Williams McLaren Alpha tauri Haas RB is definitely at the top.
Merc and Ferrari both have issues. Merc is slower, and Ferrari has bad tire wear.
From things on reddit, apparently AM and RB can both run lower than Merc/Ferrari without sacrificing the ability to ride kerbs, which is likely some trick front suspension setup since AM shares a rear with Merc.
My personal order at the moment. I think Ferrari will be close to RB in qualifying, but fall off in the race once they start eating tires.
RB > Ferrari = Merc = AM > Alpine > Alfa = Alpha > mclaren = Haas = Williams.

Apparently, according to AM, their race-length test was faster than Ferrari. Of course, pre-season testing should always be taken with the largest grain of salt, but it's interesting to see how they've clearly figured something out, and might even be regularly fighting for podiums.
Here's hoping Alonso has finally made a good career move

Must resist urge to board the AM hype train....
But yes, Alonso needs some luck to go his way. If not, it is going to be a boring 3-peat from Verstappen.
F1.5 is where the fun is anyway /s

That's pretty much a given at this point. RB is seemingly much much faster than everyone else. Pretty sure this is a cruise to WDC for Max again

They got faster over stints rather than slower, which means they have some crazy good tire wear characteristics compared to fuel burn.
Some of it might be gaining confidence in the car, but it's super encouraging.
If they can make one-stops when other teams are going for twos, and just extend good stints we could see some podiums.
Cautiously optimistic.
I'm thinking for Bahrain they might be able to comfortably 2 stop HMM when a lot of teams will be looking at very marginal 2 stops on HHM or else 3 stops.

AM is fast in practice now too. The hype is real!
I'm predicting that the talk over the next few weeks are going to be centered around how AM found this speed

Alonso had multiple race distances to practice during testing.
Stroll showed up today, with obvious disabilities and is still less than half a second off Max's time, and just over that on Alonso's. I'm hoping that he didn't do more damage to his wrists though. Taking just one race off would've done wonders for his recovery.
Fuck the hype train, I'm on the hype rocket at this point!

Things usually don't change much but sometimes they do. It's getting really hard to ignore this locomotive.

Yeah, he wasn't able to take proper lines in some of the corners (Even commenting to his engineer who wanted him to take a corner tighter that he wasn't able to because of the pain). He was taking corners with only one hand on the wheel at times.
Imo it seems pretty damn dumb to keep going with a damage like that, potentially making it way worse, instead of just skipping a race. It's not like they don't have an incredibly eager reserve driver ready to go.
At this rate, he might have to skep next weekend instead, or at the very least have 2 bad weekends, when he could have skipped one and had one good one

Alonso tops FP3! Stroll on P7!!
We also need more people in the fantasy team
Edit: CHOO CHOO! Hype train is real.
Alonso P4, Stroll P5
Era of McLolren Sargeant so close
Q2
RBR brought out their party mode lol
After Q3, AM is still the best Mercedes engine team. Hype train slows a little but its is real

At the end Red Bulls and Ferrari's are a little too fast still but that doesn't derail the hype train imo, a midfield team has joined the top 3 4!

I had a feeling McLaren would be bad, but not "beaten by Williams in Q1 and barely making it to Q2 on a technicality" bad. Oof. To be fair, that Williams does seem better than last year. Had Albon's wing not broken he'd probably have been in Q3. Danny Ric seems like he may have inadvertently dodged a bullet by being fired. He gets paid his millions and doesn't have to drive that McLaren. Piastri must be feeling some regret about ditching Alpine.
It's great that the field closed up and that AM seems to be genuinely in the mix. Even if Red Bull do end up in a league of their own, at least we'll have other stuff to watch with everyone else so close together. This was apparently one of the closest qualifying sessions in a long time.

Fernando's long run pace looks impressive and his starts are usually very good as well, a podium is very likely I would say.
All aboard!

Mclaren 2nd driver P18 is danny ric still driving for them?

mcLOLren
Oscar Piastri may be regretting his move now while honey badger must be having fun
Alpine giving McLaren a run for the best clown fiesta...
