I was at a business event a few months ago talking about real estate and sports. One of the Rams' higher-ups (president, I think) was there talking about the construction they were doing in Inglewood. He joked that they put a marker where the endzone was supposed to be because the Rams have trouble finding it.

Blaine Gabbert contributed 3.2 rush EPA (expected points added) in the 49ers' 28-0 win, the highest of any quarterback in Week 1. He scrambled for 38 yards and four first downs. Overall, his 91.1 Total QBR was the second highest of Week 1 and the second-highest mark of his career. ESPN, it's official: your made up stat is fucking worthless.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether that play was Gabbert's most disappointing of the night. The horrifically inaccurate bubble screen passes, the retarded just-shy-of-the-marker third down check-down passes, and the 15-yard overthrow of a wide open receiver for a TD all deserve consideration for that dishonor.

Because after watching how inept that offense was, why put him out there and have his confidence and body ruined. He certainly wasn't impressive in preseason from what I saw. They have more problems than just qb and probably will be better off with a new coach next year anyways.

Maybe I'm the one reading too much into this, but him not even dressing is just bizarre to me. Like why not have him be the backup and then throw him in there when Keenum sucks? There's zero pressure in that, IMO.
