There's 5 buckets of teams in the NFL. There's about 6/7 teams that are always relevant. There's about 6/7 teams that are usually relevant. There's about 6/7 teams that are rarely relevant. Therre's 12/13 team teams that are irrelevant and this group ranges from the perennial mediocre to perennial disaster.

The fact that the "non profit" NCAA hasn't given them or Penn State the death penalty is the biggest argument against that title yet (and there are lots of them) was it Briles' son wearing it or one of the other coaches? I mean they were flying #CAB (Coach Art Briles) banners at their stadium all year and selling shirts and stuff with the hashtag on it outside the stadium at all the home games apparently. also TIL Miami hasn't won a bowl game since 2006. Mark Richt is the 5th Miami coach since their last bowl victory

This is a shitty post and the Raiders and cowboys this year is exactly why. The nfl is the most even league in the world pats and browns being the exception.

The disastrous ones like Jacksonville, Browns, Buffalo, and Rams have been mostly shut out. Some mediocre teams can make the playoffs once in a while, going through cycles like Bears and Jets. One year really doesn't show all that much. Teams can even show that one or two years of success after banking up three full years of high draft picks like the Raiders. Most of the times these teams slide right back into typical mediocrity. Only a few teams are making organizational changes that result in lasting improvement on sustained success. At the same time, some teams are rotting away from within and failing from sustained success towards sustained failure. Colts, for example, survived a long time on their offense built around Peyton Manning. And the transition of an organization can take a long time. For example, Kraft's Patriots was almost 10-year project from 1993 through 2001.

UConn rehires Randy Edsall. good for them I guess? Miami wins their first bowl game since 2006. Didn't realize they were on such a bad drought. 1 missed bowl year, 2 self imposed bowl bans and a 6 bowl losing streak

I would think that Coughlin has to like who he works and how he works with the front office. There may need to be some restructuring which provides opportunity for meaningful change to how well Jags can perform over many years. The rebuilding process under Caldwell & Bradley has been slow and a lot of it has to do with Bortles.

Arkansas led VT 24-0 at half. 3 turnovers and 4 VT possessions later, VT is up 28-24 with 12 min still to play in the 4th in the second half VT outscored Arkansas 35-0. 2nd half Arkansas was held to 34 yards with 4 turnovers, 6 sacks, and 10 TFL against them. Arkansas also had a player ejected. It wasnt shown for what but the talk is he spit on a VT player. I don't think this also includes their 16 yard loss to intentional grounding on their own 4 yard line as well
