Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O'neal, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutumbo, Rik Smits, Brad Daugherty, Vlade Divac.. Virtually every team had at least a decent center, and most had capable back ups. Now you have Cousins, Dwight Howard, Marc Gasol, 38 year old Tim Duncan if you consider him a center instead of a power forward, Tyson Chandler, Andrew Bogut, Al Jefferson... Still Cousins is likely to put up huge numbers tonight vs Rockets with Dwight out again. | ||

I'm just guessing that centre's being the anchor of your defense and the expectation for them to bully/ brawl in the post took precedence over the need of post skills. Big, strong guys in the post. At least now we are starting to see a re-resurgence in post play and an emphasis on big men that can shoot and pass. Also maybe the fears of drafting another Bynum, Oden, Thabeet. On a side note with Hornets and Nets struggling early on the pacers somehow find themselves in 8th. East and West are a mess but for different reasons. | ||
