The rule is intended for someone that was never chosen for his national team and then discovers his true love for Qatar after a change in his bank account.

Any Player who ... [assumes] a new nationality and who has not played international football [in a match ... in an official competition of any category or any type of football for one Association] shall be eligible to play for the new representative team only if he fulfills one of the following conditions: (a) He was born on the territory of the relevant Association; (b) His biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of the relevant Association; (c) His grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the relevant Association; (d) He has lived continuously for at least five years after reaching the age of 18 on the territory of the relevant Association. It is possible to get an exception to this and that is apparently where New Zealand fucked up.

I'm speechless.. In my country there is a saying "You can buy a god damn donkey with that money" I just cannot believe it. I understand he is very fast, young and very talented. But 70m?

Getting that much cash for an overpriced brat is a good move for them. Hopefully they invest it wisely.

This is a fucking dream sale for Liverpool. Sterling didn't want to stay for whatever reason (I buy that it's for sporting reasons, but the salary he'll earn at City probably won't hurt). They've already got Firmino, who looks like a fantastic player and according to former team-mates has no attitude problems, for a little more than half of the Sterling fee. I just wonder what formation Liverpool will play next season. Surely they'll ditch the 5 at the back, at least? Mignolet Clyne - Skrtel - Can - Moreno Milner - Henderson Firmino --------- Coutinho Ings - Sturridge Would be fun to watch, at the very least.
