Rummenige and Guardiola - Bayern destroy themselves lol
I am also critical about KHR and Guardiola but this seems a little harsh to me...
Schweinsteiger mentioned that he'd like to play in England once. And this is the only chance he'll get. I am very sad that he leaves, he is such a legend. But he won everything there is with Bayern and if he wants a new challenge you have to accept it. I wish him the best of luck!

Let me guess you were the first that sayed "Schweinsteiger is too slow now and beyond its prime". Schweinsteiger had a contract until 2016 if he doesnt want to he wouldnt go anywhere.
Objectively speaking it makes sense for everyone. Schweinsteiger stated since the start of his career that he wants to play in England one day and he can do it with some of his prime left. He won everything and you have to give him a lot of respect that he is going to ManU and not in the US or Qatar.
Bayern wants/has to get younger and Schweinsteiger was plaged with injuries the past couple of years. Also what are they doing with him in 2 years when he is really too old? How do you deal with an aging legend properly? (Liverpool doesnt really count, on bad teams you can play whoever you want).
Would i rather see him retiering at munich. Yes i do. But this is the busines at this level and it was handled much better then with guys as Ramos or Cassilas.
I am very curios how Bayerns midfield will look next season.

His main strength is positioning and tackling, he is pretty good going forward, generally only drawback is mediocre speed.

Really exciting signing for ManU - he's excellent at both fullback and wingback, which should fit well with LVG's formation craziness. That said, Italians in the Prem don't exactly have the greatest track record so who knows. I sincerely hope he does well.

oh that Garza guy playing for USA played on our under19 squad in Sporting CP lol

Truth.
It's sad to see Schweinsteiger leave Germany. Bayern seem to be the epitome of the "modern" club that loses all of its integrity and identity due to money. They've always been German giants that compete with the best German players. Pretty soon, it's going to be a club that German fans just can't identify with. I really hope they keep falling short. Even as a BVB fan, I cheered for Bayern in the CL so that they could represent Germany, but they look more and more like a La Liga team than a German team. I was hoping that Bayern wouldn't go this direction under Pep.

OK, you might be able to justify selling Schweinsteiger, but what about Kroos? The man is in his prime, is a WC champion, and is one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Schweinsteiger would only be going to United if he wanted to... it's almost necessary anyway so Thiago can get into the starting XI

Well letting Kroos go was just stupid. Or not. We will never know and hindsight is 20/20. This is not Football Manager. We dont know how much money he wanted, how the talks went and if he just sayed "guys i like you but i just want to play for Real Madrid". Bayern has a reputation for rather keeping players then selling them for big money and i dont think the contract talks failed because of one or two millions a year.
Also he is or was at the time not uncontroversial. He has / had a reputation for disappearing in difficult situations (see euro 2012 semis against Italy) and i think the Bayern management didnt like that he refused to shoot a penalty in the 2012 CL final despite his superior shooting techniqe.

I am Bayern Fan and I can say that selling Kroos was excellent. He was always the weakest player on the field under pep' football, pretty much the same is Alonso doing. Schweinsteiger plays perfectly in pep's football speed. As long as pep is the coach, I would sell Alonso instantly.
Coach Heynckes is a different story.
Edit: above me: Kroos wanted a 9m yearly salary as the most bayern players. Bayern only gave a 5m yearly salary. Kroos is weak at marketing and isn't popular (compared with other bayern players).

The man is in his prime, is a WC champion, and is one of the best midfielders in Europe. I'd say that Schweinsteiger is a case somewhat close to Klopp in Dortmund. He did so much for the club, if he says, that he'll like to end his career after 2-3 years in the UK you'll grant him his wish especially when you get money for that and already have a few replacements in the club.
And regarding the German giants I'd argue that it's just a case of a weak German player pool at the moment. Who's there for them to get to stay mostly German and be able to compete with europes best sides? - Reus might be a good replacement but he signed a new contract and competes with Ribery and Robben in injury times. - Gündogan will be a target once he finds his 2012 form. - Schürrle and Volland? Nope! - Özil? No! - Draxler? Maaaaaybe if Pep sees something special in him. - The Bender brothers? No. - Mertesacker? No. - Kruse or whatever attacker? Absolutely no way.
Kroos is the one case we can discuss but it made sense financially so I wouldn't blame anyone.

Kroos just didn't identify with Bayern like Lahm, Schweinsteiger or Müller. That's why he left. Saying he was the weakest link in Guardiola's team is laughable. Bayern fans didn't like him as much as the others, and that's why there was no major outcry, but it was a bitter loss from a team-building perspective.
Schweinsteiger is nearing the end of his career and wants to try something different. No Bayern fan can blame him, he gave his best football years to the club.
Btw from a Bavarian perspective an Austrian like Alaba is naturally closer to the club's identity than a Prussian like Kroos :D

Schweinsteiger is an excellent signing for Yanited imo. Our midfield is pretty complete with him and he probably still has a few good years left in him. Awesome!

If he plays he can be very good, but he moves to more physical league without winter break with recurring ankle problems.
