If you put someone like Aguero or Ibrahimovic over Messi's position in 2009/2010/2011/2012. They would've won 4 Ballon d'Or just like him. Xavi and Iniesta are Messi's real reason to find success in these years. Messi would be still one of the best players in the world without them but he'd be exactly like Aguero. No ballondOr but getting praise from everyone.

But mentioning anything other than an attacking player in these debates doesn't work because people only care about goal/assist stats and not all the other important things that players can do for a team. Some players just dont get enough respect just because they dont have statics like Messi and Ronaldo. I can easily say that Ronaldinho was ten times more skilled players than both of them. He lost his passion after winning everything though.

But was he better? No and he said so himself, he said that 17 year old messi was better than him in his prime.

Ima make a best 11 of nationalities, if you don't understand you will after you read it. Basically I took notice of the number of world class players a nation has in each certain position. --------------------------german keeper-------------------- spanish rb--------greek cb1------italian cb2--------brazilian lb german midfielder1----english midfielder2------spanish midfielder3 argentinian winger1-------uruguyan forward----portuguese winger2

Little shit dived and got del Horno sent off for nothing, ruined that match. If it wasn't for that Chelsea match nobody would have cared about him, probably would have been forgotten after an injury or two. Mourinho and Chelsea made him a star with his acting comments. edit: Maybe he was 18 or 19

And Di maria was defiantly considered top 10 only a few months ago. That's without mentioning costa, silva, sanchez, rooney, Toure(when he can be arsed) Aguero was terrible in World Cup. Yeah he's good in the PL but that doesn't prove much to me because I think the PL is vastly overrated. City has done absolutely nothing in champions league. They got pretty much destroyed against Bayern last Tuesday against 10 players. 3 defensive errors later and Aguero scores a great hattrick. I'm an Aguero fan, but I don't consider him top 10 in the world. I think Alexis is better anyway. Like Drone said, making a top 10 is hard but that Fifa thing pretty much showed me that no PL player in that thing at least is top 10 in the world. I did include Di Maria but that was mostly world cup and his Real Madrid time. He's played a few good games at ManU but he isn't as impressive yet. Off the top of my head my top 10 would be something like: Messi Ronaldo Robben (as the most obvious 3) Kroos Modric Lahm Lewandowski (best striker) Iniesta Mascherano Suarez Best players in the EPL are.. Sanchez, Aguero, Hazard, Sterling? Rooney? Touré? I'd still pick Neymar over all of those for example. Heck, I think Hazard is no better than Arda Turan for example (incoming shitstorm of Chelsea fans). Then you've got guys like Bale, Schweinsteiger, Reus, Ibrahimovic, Xabi Alonso, Isco (better version of Silva, younger too) and I consider them all better than any comparable PL player too. I don't think there's any player that is best at his position in the world in the PL right now. In my opionion the best players all play at Barca, Real and Bayern. The PL is in its weakest position in years. This doesn't mean Chelsea can't win the CL btw, they have a great team.
