This seems fun! What about only using each country only once to make it more difficult? Also so I can include USA (because Thanksgiving).

Croatian midfield is a good call. Also mexican winger would be valid.

And no, Suarez wasn't the best player in the world last year. And La Liga the last few years destroys the Premier League with your 'lolliga'.
Ehh fuck it I'm not gonna join this discussion again. Uh? I agree that la liga isn't loliga, but your seriously saying Aguero isn't in the top ten players in the world right now? Honestly? And Di maria was defiantly considered top 10 only a few months ago. That's without mentioning costa, silva, sanchez, rooney, Toure(when he can be arsed) Aguero was terrible in World Cup. Yeah he's good in the PL but that doesn't prove much to me because I think the PL is vastly overrated. City has done absolutely nothing in champions league. They got pretty much destroyed against Bayern last Tuesday against 10 players. 3 defensive errors later and Aguero scores a great hattrick. I'm an Aguero fan, but I don't consider him top 10 in the world. I think Alexis is better anyway. Like Drone said, making a top 10 is hard but that Fifa thing pretty much showed me that no PL player in that thing at least is top 10 in the world. I did include Di Maria but that was mostly world cup and his Real Madrid time. He's played a few good games at ManU but he isn't as impressive yet. Off the top of my head my top 10 would be something like: Messi Ronaldo Robben (as the most obvious 3) Kroos Modric Lahm Lewandowski (best striker) Iniesta Mascherano Suarez Best players in the EPL are.. Sanchez, Aguero, Hazard, Sterling? Rooney? Touré? I'd still pick Neymar over all of those for example. Heck, I think Hazard is no better than Arda Turan for example (incoming shitstorm of Chelsea fans). Then you've got guys like Bale, Schweinsteiger, Reus, Ibrahimovic, Xabi Alonso, Isco (better version of Silva, younger too) and I consider them all better than any comparable PL player too. I don't think there's any player that is best at his position in the world in the PL right now. In my opionion the best players all play at Barca, Real and Bayern. The PL is in its weakest position in years. This doesn't mean Chelsea can't win the CL btw, they have a great team. Your essentially saying Kroos, Modric, Lewandowski and Mascherano would be the best players in the EPL if they were there, no way. Lewandowski maybe? But i don't think hes as good as Aguero, maybe not even good as Costa. Neymar is good but he's still got a lot to prove. Bale's overrated, he played in the EPl and did well, but he was barely in the top 10 players in the EPL when he was there, not as good as rooney, toure, silva ect. I know he's improved but not by that much. Schweinsteiger and Alonso are greats but there are too old now to be put in that bracket. Reus and Isco are young and hyped, haven't proven anything yet. Isco is not better than silva lol.
Ibrahimovic winds me up, every goes on about him, and as good as he looks, hes never made at at a top club, that's a big deal. Hes never been the star player of a team that won anything really significant. I just struggle to take all his amazing goals seriously when you consider the average quality of teams played against. If we was as good as people say, he would of carried one of his teams to a Champions league final at least

TT People are just going to be pent up from not talking about them the whole week and ruin our Saturdays and Sundays with Messi/Ronaldo spam. Having a mod note at the top of our football thread banning all talk about the two most fanboi'ed players in the world would be weird.

Giancarlo Gonzalez has been stellar for Palermo since he integrated into the side over the last month. I know Oscar Duarte was pretty highly rated after the WC, too. Obviously a bit of a stretch

Can we have a separate Messi>Ronaldo thread? Or are you guys afraid this thread will just die?

Wenger probably spent less than this money in his entire Arsenal career.
