Love your starting lineup, not loving your bench (except Hill, hes good). Mathews could be good, but there are a lot of mouths to feed in Philly. Jackson, West and MJD are not high on my radar.
edit: which pick # did you have in rnd 1?
|
I was pick #4. I am not high on my bench either. I kept getting sniped in the later rounds on the guys i wanted. Ended up reaching for a lot of guys. I do value MJD a lot i think hes going to have a bounce back year. I don't like the terrance west pick and the steven jackson pick too much, however they are lottery tickets. I also think D.Moore is a great pick since Carr was named the starter. Hopefully I won't have too many injury woes and I can work the waiver wire effectively to get better depth.

AFC East: There won't be much drama here. The Pats are the best team. The only question is whether they are a one seed or two seed. The rest of the division is a general shit show, which is a common theme in the AFC. I can see the Dolphins possibly challenging for a wild card spot.
AFC North: The Bengals should still be the best team in the North, though I can see the Ravens pushing them pretty hard presuming that Flacco plays better than he did last year. Hard to imagine him being worse. The Steelers are the walking dead who seem destined to go about 8-8, and the Browns will be the Browns once again.
AFC South: What a horrible division. The Colts should win this by default, but that organization needs to be shamed for doing such a horrible job building a team around Luck. The Texans should get back on track, but their QB situation is highly suspect. The Titans are the poster boys for consistency in mediocrity, and the Jags just suck. Even if Bortles is good, he still has no one to play with.
AFC West: The Broncos should take the division, but the Chargers will push them. The Chiefs are likely to be a trainwreck with all of their losses in the offseason, and I think people generally agree that they were a poser contender last year. As for the Raiders .... Who is ready to cheer for David Carr?
AFC Wildcard: Chargers and Ravens.
NFC East: All of these teams are horribly flawed. I like the Eagles to win it, but none of these teams are contenders. Let us take a moment to reflect on how hysterically bad the Cowboys defense is going to be this year. Fantasy football is going to revolve around playing players who are against the Cowboys every week.
NFC North: This may be the most fun division in football this year. I think all of the teams are at least decent. The Packers should take the division. Beyond them, I'd like to think that the Lions will challenge for the division, but then I keep remembering that they hired Caldwell as their coach. I like the Vikings, and I'm not really high on the Bears.
NFC South: New Orleans is clearly the class of this division. With their thin depth and mounting injuries, the Falcons seem destined for another disappointing year, which hopefully will result in Mike Smith and Dimitroff being shown the door. The Panthers are due for a big regression as everyone is predicting given their hemorrhaging of talent over the offseason. The Bucs are an interesting team. They had an absolutely atrocious start to last season, featuring the antics of Schiano, the epic implosion of Freeman, and an outbreak of MRSA. They have some talent and a competent head coach now. They should be much better.
NFC West: Fuck, we might as well give the Seahawks the division now with the steady parade of Niners to the Santa Clara County Jail. Seattle would have to do some serious pooch screwing to mess this up. Arizona won't be as good, and neither will the Rams. Still, both will be miserable to play against.
NFC Wildcards: Niners and .... I have no idea. I can see half a dozen teams competing for this last spot if things break their way. Let's go wild and pick the Bucs! You're right about how terrible the NFC east is, this eagles season will be a colossal disappointment if they don't win the division
I say niners miss playoffs

So I just finished my first PPR auction draft and here is my results:
1 Lesean McCoy $61 2 Antonio Brown $35 3 Andre Ellington $29 4 Andre Johnson $21 5 Toby Gerhart $ 12 6 Andrew Luck $10 7 Kendall Wright $12 8 Jordan Cameron $6 9 Justin Hunter $2 10 Kelvin Benjamin $3 11 Jeremy Hill $1 12 Kansas City D $2 13 Brian Hartline $1 14 Carlos Hyde $1 15 Dan Bailey $2
Overall I cant complain, my starters should rack up a lot of points. I am kicking myself about the Gerhart pick because I didnt want him, I was merely being a dick and trying to force someone who nominated him to pay a little more. After spending a ton on McCoy I toned back while the elite receivers were drafted, once things calmed down I grabbed Brown and A.Johnson for decent values. Luck for $6? All day lol.
One guy screwed up and took Rodgers and Brees back to back. I offered Gerhart and A.Johnson for him. Maybe I can use Brees as a trade chip for a better receiver?

I agree with pretty much everything here. There's 7-8 potential playoff teams in the AFC with the Pats, Colts, Broncos, Bengals being the favorites to win their divisions with Phins, Ravens, Chargers, and possibly the Cheifs as the lead WC contenders(in no particular order).
Am I the only one that expects something out of the Giants? Being in the NFC East helps but Eli has a tendency of playing out of his mind one random season after huge regressions. Maybe I'm just trying to make a trend out of nothing but I never count them out of winning the division. I Like the Bucs too but I wish they would have stuck with Glennon. I have a soft spot in my heart for going with the young guy with potential. But if McCown plays like he did in Chicago it's a no brainer.
EDIT:
Looking at this week I'd like to make some predictions SEA>GB NO>ATL STL>MIN CLE>PIT(Something feels weird to me about this game, might be CLEs D, might be all the negativity following them making me love them here) PHI>JAX(I expect a close game here actually. JAX actually isn't that bad and if they can keep from getting to far behind the game will stay in reach) NYJ>OAK(Ryan's D vs a Rookie QB? Come on now.) BAL>CIN(Close one but I gotta give it to Flacco and Kubiak) CHI>BUF WSH>HOU KC>TEN MIA>NE(It's my fanboy coming out here but the games between these two are always crazy) TB>CAR SF>DAL DEN>IND(Manning>Luck) DET>NYG(I wanted to say Giants here) ARI>SD(Close one honestly. Could go either way)

Why do people think that the vikings are going to lose against a sam bradfordless rams? Have I just been drinking such a huge ammount of kool aid that I can't think rationaly? I honestly think this is a 9-7 team that is on the bubble to make the playoffs.

Yeah, I think I've been drinking the same Kool Aid. I kinda think that the Vikings can win that game.

I think the Vikings can definitely win that game, but they're still led by Matt Cassel and St. Louis is playing at home. Add in that Sam Bradford isn't that large of a step up from Shaun Hill, and here we are.
Similarly, I'm surprised Tennessee isn't getting the love I expected them to against KC.

I bet you the Vikings surprise us. I have faith that norv turner can make Patterson this year's josh Gordon. Remember Gordon didn't have anybody good throwing him the ball last year either..

That's generally how someone gets a ton of gross stats, their team is deficient in one or more area and lean on the talented person.

Just had another fantasy draft. 10 team league with a lot of people who don't have the slightest clue what they're doing, and fortunately it's a money league. 6 point passing TDs, with the starters listed. Otherwise it's standard scoring.
QB: Matt Ryan RB: Adrian Peterson RB: Andre Ellington WR: Brandon Marshall WR: Jordy Nelson WR: Pierre Garcon RB/WR: Michael Floyd RB/WR/TE: Emmanuel Sanders TE: Kyle Rudolph K: Stephen Gostkowski DEF: Houston
BN: Andy Dalton BN: Joique Bell BN: Knowshon Moreno BN: Brandon Cooks BN: Zach Ertz BN: Tim Wright BN: Benny Cunningham
I feel pretty good right now.

I feel pretty good right now. O_O why cant a team like that fall on my lap? T-T Play in a league where Matt Stafford goes 10th overall. That was pretty close to the worst thing I saw today, it became better as things moved along, but my jaw dropped when I heard that one announced.

I'm in one small-money league in which one of my friends, who knows almost nothing about the NFL, picked RG3 with the fourth overall pick.

Was just talking to my friend, and apparently someone took Luck with the 4th overall pick. People are weird.
