Is Cleveland still trying to do the WCO? Because if so that's quite possibly the worst system fit I can imagine for Manziel. Multiple quick reads focusing on the intermediate passing game is literally playing to all of his weaknesses.

Manziel is in such a better position than Bortles. With Justin Blackmon out for the year afaik, there's like nothing to throw to there.

Kyle Shanahan is their OC now, new coaching staff and all, so I'm assuming he won't have any problem running something similar he did with RG3 in washington for Manziel.

Well viks have an good oline and running game so... atleast he wont be killed like any jags QB but he's throwing to nothing. Essentially 2010, 2011 49ers offense. Got jack to do except run the ball.

I really hope so. He's not ready to be a starter like Luck or anything. I'm sure his ego is huge but it would probably do him good to sit behind Hoyer for a while

I find it amazing how divided people are on the pick. Even Browns fans are torn. Half of the fans love it and half of the fans hate it.

keep in mind, that in the 80s, the Niners traded for a QB from a underachieving florida team who was considered a bust.

Yeah I think it would be a pretty bad move for the Browns to just toss him into the starting job. Sure some teams end up ok with the rookie starter but there are plenty of examples of them just floundering around and looking terrible. Hoyer looked decent before his injury so I don't see why you would risk starting Manziel right away unless you're that concerned with ticket sales or something and want to draw people in. I guess they already sold good amount of tickets after the pick so they might feel pressured to start him

Going to be realllllllly hard to not start Manziel with all the hype he's getting up in Cleveland. Some exec compared it to getting James in Cleveland.

Uniformed Browns fans are the worst. Like, people that just live here but don't really follow the game. They would be the people that would bitch up a storm if we don't start Manziel, but will still be like "Cleveland sports is always gonna suck!" if we start him and don't give him time to develop and actually become a better player.

I think the whole concept of starting players right away hurts them is kind of silly. As long as you have steady coaching, you are fine. Shit like what alex smith went through, 5 ocs in 5 years or whatever, with zero supporting cast outside of rb, is how you get into trouble.

The only reason Manziel shoudl probably sit is that hte browns are actually halfway decent enough to challenge for a 6th seed if they get a little luck. Theyve got a pretty good d, some decent offensive weapons. Win some close games and have some lesser AFC teams shit the bed and they can sneak in.
