With 145 more yards, he'll be only the third receiver in NFL history to enjoy three straight seasons with 1,450 yards and 10 touchdowns. The other two names: Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison. Digital media just fucking sucks all around. Looks like he hit that level a couple of times but he actually only received the necessary volume the one year. Also, the name Elroy needs to make a comeback.

Even that edited quote is still technically incorrect; he had just shy of 1450 yards the last 2 seasons, at 1430 and 1434. I know that's super close, but if you're going to throw a stat out there use the right one(1400 and 10 TDs). Harrison technically didn't do it either(he had a 1413 sandwiched between 3 other years where he did do it).

He had all the physical attributes already and was a biletnikoff finalist in an offense that runs 50 times per game and passes 10 in college.

Watching him all year he dropped so many goddamn easy passes. I'm not surprised at all he hasn't been able to do anything in the NFL. The whole logic behind people saying he should go high is "you can't teach speed!" He should have stayed in school another year and worked on everything else. There was one game while he was at GT, I think we played UNC that day. They throw this long pass to Stephen Hill and he makes a great 1 handed catch over a defender and they announcers are all like OMG #1 play on sportscenter top 10 blah blah blah. Later that game he gets a breakaway completely busted coverage wide open field ahead of him ball off both hands just dropped. Overall the second one was more common for him. We actually have another wide receiver at GT that is doing well this year, DeAndre Smelter, but he tore his ACL in the last game of the regular season against UGA so he's not going to be able to show off before the draft so I think he might go undrafted now.

But the moral of the story is the Jets kill careers, or in this case, speed up his inevitable failure it seems. All the Jets fans here were super high on him too it does seem a lot of highly touted NCAA receivers ran limited routes in college. Crabtree comes to mind. I also want to stab him and Vernon Davis after this season. Aside from Roman, Vernon Davis is the biggest culprit for why that offense has failed. He's their lid lifter. They have been having him block a lot again this year due to line injuries, but even when he goes out, he can't get shit seperation. It's maddening. That bleeds over to more doubles on Boldin/Crab, and more safties in the box. It really would help if any of the Niners receivers were fast. They're all possession guys

Except for the GT receivers of course. Those dudes just run down the field 10 times a game and block every other play lol
