clubs like people also don't actually get that much more out of that much more money. I mean yea sure there are some shiny ferraris, but they don't give a good return on their investment.
this is an awesome analogy and so true If German clubs had more money than they would also spend a lot more.

QPR are by far the worst offenders. It's pretty funny watching them fail to make automatic promotion this year.
Edit: And maybe Burnley are showing that English clubs can do it a bit more sensibly sometimes.

I think Swansea is also a very good example.

Yeah Swansea have been very sensible.
Fantasy football has given that goal to Suarez. He didn't seem to want to claim it.

Tottenham really doesn't look like a team that spent 100M€.

I don't know how many times this needs to be said: they spent the money that came in from selling players (including the 2 time Premier League player of the season), and nothing more. There was no investment into the squad. This isn't like Monaco buying Falcao, Moutinho, and Rodriguez. I think this picture says it best:

I see that the selling club wants more money from a PL club than a german club because they know that PL have like 10 times the money for transfers than the average Bundesliga club.
What i dont understand is why the average Bundesliga game is "better" than the average PL game with way more expensive players. I really like watching Mainz, Freiburg and Gladbach because they have cool tactic concepts, i dont follow PL that closely but everytime i watch a game without Arsenal, ManC or Liverpool it is like watching a game from the 80. A lot of crosses and kick and rush all over the place.

I didn't say they had a negative balance, but they DID buy 100M worth of players after selling Bale, which didn't show today.

Also Chelsea stole Willian from Spurs hah

Well of course it didn't, 4 of the 7 new signings are injured (Lamela, Chiriches, Paulinho, Capoue). A 19 year old from the youth team was starting in central midfield today.

BT sport are talking about Napoli fans pelting the Juventus bus with stones and flares when they came to town and how this is completely normal and that they do things like this all the time. Things like deliberately cutting the air conditioning in the hotel and stay up all night making noise outside to try and make the Manchester City players unable to sleep when they came to town (not sure when that meeting was they didn't play each other this year did they).
Anyway my question is if Italian fans are so passionate why the fuck don't they go to games anymore. Serie A attendances have been apauling this year. Every game I have watched has been in at least half empty stadiums.

Because those 'fans' are fucking idiots and are always a very small minority. They're probably all in the stadium but no club in the world has 30.000-50.000 morons throwing bricks at buses as 'fans'.

Yeah I guess you're right it's probably only a few that engage in those kind of activities.

Ha sorry if I made you angry or anything with my comments. Thing is, I didn't see many games from Tottenham this season (the one against chelsea and today's for the past month or so) but everytime I watch them play they really don't look good, which I find surprising.

Yanited can't even qualify for EL lolol If Arsenal win the FA cup the Europa league place for that will go to the 7th placed team in the Premier League which is Manchester United at the moment. But the last few years the FA Cup and League Cup keep getting sniped by small teams that end up in Europa League as a result. edit: Fulham where great in that game, but they lost and it's to late. Their down in my book
If Arsenal win the FA Cup, the Europa League berth will go to the runner up, meaning the winner of the Hull City/Sheffield United match is going to the Europa League (unless Arsenal screw up and finish 5th/6th).

No worries. There has been an annoying narrative in the English press that Tottenham are crazy spenders like City and Chelsea, so I thought you were going in that direction. In reality, the Tottenham owner lives on a private yacht in the Bahamas, and generally is never heard from.
They really do look horrible but it's mostly down to the management. The players stopped believing in AVB so he definitely had to get sacked, but his replacement Tim Sherwood isn't even qualified to manage; he has a special exemption because he is enrolled in a coaching course. He and his coaching staff are completely clueless and take a 1980s approach to the game. To give you an idea of how bad it is, Sherwood's assistant Les Ferdinand said a couple months ago that he doesn't believe in defensive midfielders, and that Claude Makelele was the worst thing ever to happen to the Premier League. Today the midfield pairing was a kid from the youth team and Gylfi Sigurdsson who is a natural no.10. They play a high defensive line with defenders who are among the slowest in the league, and refuse to change it no matter how many goals they concede.
The good news is that your national goalkeeper has been incredible for us this season, and is in top form heading into the world cup. He had an unbelievable save today to deny Suarez: https://vine.co/v/MeqthUrZTVe

Got to love you goalkeeper as he is my national team's (and very good and professional) :p
I hope teams like tottenham and everton can become contenders in the years to come.

His statement is horrible, but his reasoning behind it is not. Holding midfielders definitely should be able to go forward as well as stay behind.
|
Does he not believe in holding midfielders in a tactical sense? His approach isn't stupid if he doesn't attack with wing/full backs, but if he's having outside backs bomb down the sidelines to support the attack then you need a holding midfielder to hang back and try and prevent/slow any counterattack.
