Yup. THe posture stuff is sort of separate, frailness is not. Then again, I'm lifting about what I did when I st arted before the surgery, so yeah.

I don't have much of an appetite, and am on medications taht prevent me from drinking milk for another two weeks. Instead just eating tons of food. Already gained 8 pounds in around a month.

I usually post in the weightlifting thread, but given last 3 pages are about shirt designs anod not working out, I'll post here :p. I've also got a vid and a PR, and an epic training session.

Today's Training:

Squat 155kgx3x10
BP: Warm ups, 110kgx1, 120kgx1, 130kgx1, 136kgx1, 139kgx1 (failed), 100kgx10
Bicep Curls: 20kgx12x4, 10x1, 8x1



Behold, 3kg PR.

Squat was fucking hard, but I love em. Even if I'm red like a tomato for last 3 sets, my mind can always push me trough it.

So given I'm taking off from september 14 to 19 to drink and eat meat in national holidays in a mini trip with a huge amount of friends (and hopefully bang a bunch of girls), and because I felt like, I decided to max on BP so I can traing OHP only before then and hit bodyweight. Given how 136kg was quite easily, I was sure I was good for 139kg, but I just couldn't be as stable/tight and I missed it mainly cause the bar felt out of the line it has to be so I can use all my pressing power.

While 3kg doesn't seem much, I've been benching once a week only and focusing on OHP/Pull Ups. The result, is my shoulder don't ache anymore and are much more balanced. I've got a BP only competition on early october, and another one on nov 24 (powerlifting nationals) So I'll most likely keep doing OHP/pull ups/BP/pull ups/OHP the time preceeding each one, and turn gear into benching 3-5 times a week 3-4 weeks before each competition, With frequent practice and proper peaking I see myself doing 145 and 150 at them. I'm also starting to do bicep curls, since everyone says they help to stabilize the bar at BP and that overdevoloped triceps will eventually wreck my elbows. Given the only reason I have not to do them is that I hate them, and that I usually get sore biceps from doing regular grip pull ups, I'll add them.

I've also got room for 4-5kg of bodyweight, but I don't feel like becoming a fat ass. After november 24 I'm cutting as much as I have to till I can see a fucking 6 pack.

I was working at a construction site for the summer, which was mainly physical labor, so I didn't have the will or the energy to go to the gym during this time. However, school started and I'm back in business Had to bring the weights down a little, but it was a good time for me to fix some errors of my form from before.
These are out of memory, so I'm not sure exactly but...
deadlift 115kg-> 100 kg
squat 77.5kg-> 65 kg
BP 52.5kg -> 45kg

I'm talking about 3x5 numbers ofc (except DL). However, I know that my chinups/pullups have gotten stronger over the summer.

Regardless, I'm happy to start lifting again. I feel hammered, but I can't wait for tomorrow

Hey guys I got a problem, I did a 160kg squat and placed a board underneath that let me know when I was squatting so that the top of my thigh was perpendicular to the ground...did one rep, was fine, did another, and really really struggled to get up, like massive struggle also lost balance. My hip flexor on the left side suddenly felt like it was on fire, like incredible searing heat feeling like someone had rubbed 10x strength tiger balm in it. I finished the lift and it was painful for a small while but just settled down to a faint memory of that heat, and I didn't do any more squatting...it feels perfectly fine today (this happened yday). Any ideas what happened?

PS Froadac that's a massive deadlift!!! GJ, you're one of the most inspiring individuals on the site, after all the fucking crazy shit you had to go through.

Squat magic happened. Seriously, putting dumb amounts of weight on your back seems to unfuck everything; smashed my knee into my doorframe really hard two days ago, constant pain ever since. I squat a PR and behold, pain is all gone.

Great post, Gotunk. It's impressive how easy it seems for you from the video (the upwards movement). When I'm benching I and the weight is on its way down, my forearms and triceps hurt (a lot), but oddly enough it's just in the first rep. After that it still hurts, but a lot less than in the 1st rep. I'm saying it because I also make the 'descend' move very slowly like you did, mostly because of the pain I feel in my arms. I wonder if your arms hurt too?

Haha, I make vectors in photoshop as well :p I have no illustrator skills whatsoever. I tried using illustrator once, and it ended up looking like one of those MS Paint images where you fill the screen with lines and the colour in the white space ;(

I'm in week 3 of 5/3/1, and yesterday was my squat day. I did what I often do in week 3 and just did one rep on the final set and then worked up to a 1rm PR. Did it fine but my quads are in agony, this doesn't normally happen. Sitting, standing, lying down, there's nothing I can do. I've been massaging and rolling and stretching and doing anything I can, don't think I've ever had DOMS this bad before, seems pretty odd seeing as I've been doing the same thing for months now.
