Sitting at 90kg atm... going to compete in July or August at 85kg. I need a 245kg total to qualify for Canadian nationals. decaf you're going to the Arnold right? What's the total you're looking to hit at the meet? | ||

Opening total is 290 which means I have to hit at least 125/145 (pretty much automatic for me) I'm going to try to open around 130/155 and shoot for at least a 300 total. | ||

I just stumbled across this video on youtube. I have never seen such an easy jerk, it looks like theres no weight on the bar lol. | ||

In fact... I haven't maxed in back squat in like half a year.. I might actually beat my best back squat with front squat in the next three weeks, lol (145, I suck at back squat). And Ivanov is like definition of brute power... No belt, sleeves, or anything and a frigging power jerk. He also looks like a damn gladiator. | ||

Well at least at the Olympics and International comps you can be pretty sure they're clean at the time of the lifts even if they don't train that way. Took a side view of a 160 clean (failed jerk) so I could check out the bar path. Turned out to be one of my best heavy cleans(except my 150 cj before i absolutely crushed out of nowhere) and I already front squatted 180. Looks pretty good to me, ill run it through kinovea when I get the chance. Since I changed my catch/rack position I'm finishing more vertical, keeping the bar closer, and bouncing out of the whole better (I've never one bounced 160 before) | ||

Both decaf and DimSum are east coast so they should know some good coaches in PA. About training frequency... since you've already been strength training, you can train pretty frequently. I would say even 6 days a week if you can since in the beginning the weights you will be doing will not be very high due to focusing on proper technique. | ||

I just looked at crossfit scranton and Wilkes-barre. Both doesnt seem to have oly weightlifting set up. i'll look some more tomorrow | ||
