I've heard occasionally that low to moderate amounts of alcohol is actually good for health. Or maybe it was just wine, I'm not sure.

Alcohol will worsen your DOMS from my experience. Even a couple of drinks seems to be pretty pro-inflammatory.

If you are fully fit you might get away scot free but if you are carrying any minor injury niggles you will know about it the next day

ok, alcohol is not "useless" calories, we're all adults here. We shouldn't have to ask one another "why drink it over milk?".

So since the start of this year, I've been skipping my breakfasts (because dining hall breakfasts are terrible, and for practicality reasons). Theoretically I eat at 10:30 when I get out of my first class - but the dining halls on campus don't put out new food until 11:00, and then I have only 20 minutes to eat my 13-1500 calorie meal. In practice, this has lead to me gradually phasing out lunch, and not eating until 2, 4, or even 5:00 when I get out of class. The dining halls then close at 7:30, and i'm only able to eat one meal (in which I can only cram down ~1500 calories) per day.

This has been accompanied by a gradual loss of energy (sleeping/wanting to sleep most of my day), decline in appetite in general (I'm not hungry at all during my ~15-18 hour fasts) by me picking up flu-like symptoms. Being sick did not bother me at first, as the symptoms were going around campus at the time, but I've gotten rid of all but the cough, and my appetite continues to decline. I'm now not even hungry by five or six PM when I make myself head to the dining hall and eat something. I have put in far too much time and effort forcing myself to eat (I have never enjoyed eating, but I have always tolerated it out of necessity. It now seems that my body is rejecting the activity.) in order to grow, to see all of my progress lost now (I'm down somewhere between five and ten pounds in the last two and a half weeks - and I didn't have that to lose.)

TL;DR stopped eating for practicality reasons, have completely lost my appetite since then and can barely even force myself to eat. It's interfering with my life now, and I need it to stop.

So this begs the question, where the hell do I get myself some bear semen without killing a bear myself? Would love to mix some bear semen with my GOMAD.

GOMAD. Force breakfast, just eat some cereal, got some calories, isn't too filling. You should be able to eat again soon after. Eat calorie dense stuff for dinner. Pasta is what i personally can eat the most of (carb wise). PB/J sandwiches are good too.
If everything else fails: weight gainer shakes while in class, or in gym or everywhere.

Most of the time I just have to eat by the clock, not how I feel. It it makes me want to throw up then so be it, the food will go down and stay down.

Would massive shakes be an option for you? With a little practice downing 1-1.5k cals in a shake becomes ezpz and you could start your day with them, then eat lunch when your hall gets new food. You probably wont even have to eat so much then since you are still somewhat full from the shake earlier.

Some days just suck at eating...

Can you only eat at dining halls? Do you still live on campus or smth? I basically just destroy whole milk and high fat meals to keep from losing weight, I often only eat 2, maybe 3 times a day but they're usually 1000-1500 cal meals + half a gallon of whole milk

This is going to be my life-time goal, to get strong enough by working out to one day being able to kill my own bear with hands. The prize is bear semen and truly becoming a man.

Holy crap I did this a while ago, just force yourself to eat GOOD FOOD. You will probably feel quite sick for a while after eating because of it (don't know why). Start doing something that will be physically tiring (walking a lot, exercising regularly) and maybe if you don't have time for meals, snack on fruit when you can, an apple only takes like 2 mins to eat.

Hey I started starting strength almost 2 years ago (on and off), and now I am 5'7' @ 150lb from 130lb. I wasn't really focused on a specific diet during that time, but now that I'm considering to lose some fat (my goal is 8-10% bf), I'm kind of lost as to where I should begin. Of course, diet is the main part and I would like some opinions on the best way to reach my goals by summertime. In addition, I'd like to know how I should adjust my weight training with such diet for the best results. Thanks

He gives an additional insight to grains and other refined foods - that they worsen eyesight. Pretty interesting, I thought it was worth sharing.

I think I have a cold again.

I'm in the States and I'm taking vitD.

What is the acceptable amount to bomb myself with to get out of this cold fast?

I started yesterday and took 3000UI, today I took 4000UI.

I bought a bottle of 250softgels of 5000UI each. :D??

Okay, I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing..but I've been trying to get to 10% bf (~25% give or take atm) starting just a week ago. I cut a lot of carbs from my diet, but I had this tendency to get more meat than I had been to compensate. First few days, I saw a gradual decrease in weight (~0.5-1.0lb) then I stopped cuz it started fluctuating due to different sources of error. Now, a week later, I gained about a pound or two. I swear, I've been in constant hunger (not starvation mode) this past week, and I'm pretty sure my calorie intake was less than before. Could it be that extra meat I ate? Should I continue what I'm doing?

Just start counting calories. Much easier, not so much guesswork. At first it will be a pain in the ass, but after a few weeks it gets really easy.
In general, when you first start cutting your carbs, you lose a lot of water. The weight decrease was probably that.
If you are constantly hungry you are doing something wrong, at the end phase (when you're really close to 10%) it's ok to be hungry but before that you shouldn't be.
