Good thing though that I just started power cleaning, one lift I can still enjoy beginner progress with. Plus it's fun as hell, should have started earlier. Isn't this a bit misleading? I'm heavier than funkie and we are the same height (i think ._.) Should I really be able to lift more than him because I have more fat ? >_>
Edit: and don't worry zatic, according to that list I have still almost 20kg until I hit intermediate bench press

Morning session in the gym was fucking awesome
Squats:
I did a crap load between 135 and 185lb, down from my 275x5pr about two months ago. Right knee felt fairly normal, some tightness, but I didn't notice any pain.
Also did some leg presses with only the right leg, to strengthen it slightly.
Press:
135 lb: 3-3 125 lb: 4
Press is a bitch, and it fell so quickly too.
Power clean:
155 lb x 3 x 5
Felt great with the PCs today, going to catch up to my PR pretty quickly.

I eat very healthy, exercise enough and sleep a lot. (Basically from 00:00 to 9:45). Problem is that I wake up feeling crazy tired. It's a pretty dark room and there it's quiet enough I think (got earplugs). I do not use an alarm clock, however. I just turned 18, is this just puberty or am I oversleeping?
Thanks in advance, I really did try to google it but couldn't find anything appropiate. Need more details about exercise & nutrition Alright so the average day is as follows: 11:00 return from the baker and have breakfast, one baguette with brie and honey and generally a croissant or two 12:30 head to the gym to do starting strength 14:00 return from gym, have a shower Sometimes I get another baguette to eat, always an apple/banana/5 egg whites and 650ml of full fat milk protein shake 14:30 watch tv shows on laptop, browse 17:30 go to work, bring second 650ml protein shake I work at a restaurant, so I eat a LOT. Like I eat about twice as much as the four guys combined, no joke. During work I eat a bit aswell. Should I stop eating/drinking 2 hours before bedtime? 23:30 return from work 00:00 zzzz time I workout tuesday, thursday and saturday, so this schedule is quite appropiate there. On my 'off' days I do some light stretching and no working out generally aside of a little bit of swimming and the walk uphill to the bakery. Thanks a ton eschlow, if you ever get kids they'll be lucky to have you. If there's anything left so I can help you help me, ask me please.
I know what eshlow is gonna say: ditch the baguettes and croissants have a steak instead! and dont throw away the egg yolk dude! precious protein and fat wasted

yes bodyweight is quite important to know how strong you are! think of it this way: those 20kg you got on funkie could also be pure muscle mass! then it would be unfair to compare your lifts to someone who has 20kg less muscle mass.
also, look at malinor: quite a large dude who cranks out insane numbers despite all the fat that surrounds his awesome muscles! (hope youre not offended by my phrasing malinor :p)

Isn't egg yellow like 100% cholestrol? Are there alternatives to a steak, cooking is kinda hard. Two cans of tuna with eggs? Probably getting a paleo cookbook, don't want to derail this with my diet

There is tons of info and an entire cookbook on that site as well.

The more you weight, the more lean body mass and muscle mass you have and therefore you are stronger. The correlation is pretty linear. Pretty much the reason why weight classes exist. Of course there are always some exceptions to the rule and it depends highly on how trained you are.
@zafrumi: no offense taken.

Easy on the canned tuna there buddy. The stuff contains a huge amount of mercury.
Honestly, I limit myself to 2-3 cans of tuna a week. I don't screw around with the stuff, even though I love the taste.

2 cans of tuna is the bare minimum amount of tuna I will eat when I have it.
jsut 1 tin aint enough

EGIdra almos bench pressed 205lbs, his record was 185 i think..
Dam, having incontrol as a personal trainer and 5-6 times a week training really makes miracles, i didnt think idra had it in him.
My bpress is 132lbs for 5x5 series, so i think about 160-170lbs max?
Today:
Squats: 85kg 5x5 Bpress: 60kg 5x5 Powercleans: 65kg 3-3 60kg 3-3-3
I dont like powercleans, i dont have the leg explosion in me yet, so i cant do more than that right now.
Keep up the good work chaps!
Also how you like your eggs? i like the yellow stuff as half liquid in it, so about 4-5mins only in boiling water or 7-8mins when you are heating it up from 50-60 degrees.

Source?
A guy as skinny as idra benching 90kg+ after going from completely untrained strikes me as a bit far fetched .

Good techniqque means a LOT on the bench press. Depending on his well trained you are, proper powerlifting style technique (according to dave Tate) will give you anywhere from 20-100 pounds more on your bench... 20 being for someone like me who's around 150 lb bencher, and 100 being for incontrol :p.
Plus... idra is a full time sc2 pro, yeah? He definitely has the time to dedicate to proper training and recovery... and he did look a bit bigger at the last MLG. I wonder if 205 is a 1rm or a set of five though?
|
all that is confirmed on this thread is that idra did an easy 185 at bodyweight 150 and that he was gonna try 205 soon. very likely a 1RM.
still, not bad at all
|
That's really good. Wish my bench press wasn't such a pussy. My upper body needs more work or a good partner to whip me

for those looking to lose fat weight and feel better before starting the strength trainings, check out a movie called "Fat, Sick, And Nearly Dead." its a great diet plan that focuses on vegetarian juices made from scratch. me and my wife have been doing a juice for breakfast and lunch then a veggie/bean dinner with some white meat.
ive lost about 15 pounds in 2 weeks. i recommend it to anyone who is serious about shedding the fat.
|
Why diet with only fruit juices when you can do it with steaks?
Today's session consisted of foam rolling, hip mobility stuff and squats.
Worked up to 160kg x 2 and after that 140kg x 3-3-3
Pretty happy with that. 170kg gogogo!
|
he did say veggie dinner with meat!
sounds to me like a pretty severe calorie reduction. probably not too healthy for everyone! unless you eat a really really big dinner
