FYI rip has said he would like to revise those standards... they're for the bottom half of the genetic lifting bell curve ie: the better your genetics, the higher the lifts required before you stop adapting as a novice would.

Weight is under 200 pounds now...5kg of fat gone in like 3 weeks when i actualy started to look what i ate. Should have done that earlier. I cant see the difference in mirror but i guess it is there somewhere.

Today:
87.5kg squat 5-5-5-5-5
42.5kg press 5-5-5-5-5
105kg deadlift x5

By crosfit standards i am untrained, but it doesnt look at your height, so i really dont care

I dont like front squats that much either. I always bruise my collarbone for some reason ^^ my knees dont like them too much either (this is probably due to bad form though. maybe I should upload a video one of these days)

Crossfit Strength Standards
Press : Intermediate
Squat : Intermediate>Advanced
Deadlift : Intermediate>Advanced
Bench : Novice>Intermediate

you can tell I don't like benching 8)

I prefer these strength standards btw

Most of my values seems to be like in between each of these, so yeah, I'm happy. I'd love to be more consistent too .

edit: btw, no bitching about the front squat, it's awesome, and I'm already lifting 92kg on Front Squat. Has helped and done wonders for my Back Squat too .

hmmm lets see:

Bench Press: Intermediate
Deadlift: Advanced (hopefully I reach Elite by the end of the year ^^)
Press: Intermediate (got a whole lot better push press though...)
Squat: Intermediate -> Advanced (will pass into advanced in septemer)

more thoughts:

very probable that I do a full meet in november and aiming on 200-115-240.

Time will tell if that will happen :D

So after months of only front squatting (and often not squatting at all), today lower back felt pretty good so i gave back squatting a shot. Pretty humbling, my front squat overtook my back squat. If my back doesnt start hurting again i will start alternating back and front squat. Probably have to take out deadlifting though.

Lol. Ball of energy with 6 hours of sleep. Woke up at 7 am and said screw it and went to lift. Felt like I could have gotten 210 on squat and more on pretty much everything, but I kept it progressing nicely instead. Think my wrist is really holding me back when I do the seated curls, so I'll just switch over to EZ bar curls. On a somewhat serious note, I think something may actually be wrong with my wrist.

And after 8 months, I feel like I finally have my squat form down really well :D Bout time!

Enjoyed those static holds and I might throw them in for awhile maybe. I can already feel that grip getting better (and found out my dominate hand has the weaker grip).

Oh and I held this workout off until today instead of tuesday because I honestly got piss poor food on monday (Read: none food in the house) so I just did it today. Hopefully it doesn't hinder Friday's workout too much.

No need to, just start off easy.

I do, Front squats (they went from "light front squatting" to "heavy front squatting"). I'm recovering well every workout day, sleeping semi-good now, and trying to eat well and get milk when I can.

My Front Squat helped tremendously my back squat, my quadriceps are a whole lot more explosive and stronger now, and that has helped almost all my lifts.

Deadlifts are just insanely good, I love the feeling you get in your legs, when you're done doing a heavy heavy set of DL's.

If I get to do DL's today, I'll go for 140. If I can't do 140kgx5 then I'll try x1, then 142kgx1 and go until I can't no more!:

hehe yeah not getting enough sleep doesnt affect the first workout most of the time (I have had some amazing workouts while low on sleeps). it will however start to drain you in the next couple of days if you dont start sleeping more!

gl funkie. just the other day I saw a guy doing a 200kgx1 deadlift in my gym at bodyweight 77kg. so that should be your goal!

possible injury/health question:
last monday after I finishes a set of squats I suddenly felt a sharp and pulsing pain in the back of my head, but on the inside (headache). felt like an arterie was too narrow for all the blood that was pumping through it. was quite painful but subsided after a few minutes. today it appeared again after I was benching... what could it be? aneurysm? am I gonna die? getting quite worried because I never had that before and its already happened twice now

I had that shit before, such a pain in the ass. First time I got it was during my last rep of a set of dips, and it kept coming back everytime I did a heavy set.

I eventually got rid of it by using slightly lighter weights for a few weeks while working on my breathing, which seems to be the normal cause of this.
I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.

Ok so i'm alive again. My mom is going to the US this weekened and I need to take this opportunity to get my powerlifting gear (no suits yet though). I need TL's help to pick the best squatting shoes. I don't mind spending up to 200 bucks if it is the best quality and really lasts a lifetime.

Todays body weight 155lbs.
Todays workout:
Squat: 170lbs 3x5
Bench: My shoulder almost feels good enough to start adding weight to this, i did 65lbs 3x10 :/ cant wait for my shoulder to heal.
Deadlift: 235lbs 1x5! i love the deadlift so much

All in all felt like a good day of working out, now to grill some steaks.
