Also, I wouldn't do a cut with a calorie count below 2000. It just feels wrong. for most people, cutting at 2k would take forever though :/ on my cut I'm eating 1500-1600 on average on diet days. Rosa is my height though, and 2700 calories per day is just about maintenance for me at 170 lbs/78kg. The two times in the last eight months I've felt bad about my stomach, I just spend a week at 2000-2200 calories a day, and drop five pounds. Hmmm it's posts like these that make me think I really need to start keeping track of my caloric intake... I'm 170 but I'm pretty sure I'm not eating that much consistently. On April 05 2011 02:52 Lemonayd wrote: It is a beautiful day here in MD so I got out there for a two mile jog/walk. :D Yeah man, I'd do the same if I could get outside now. Makes me sad sometimes to be inside the gym on nice days like this when I go. Tracking calories is ezpz. Get fitday, or if you own a smartphone, mtfitnesspal. Put in what you eat right when you eat it, and after a few weeks you'll we able to estimate on your own for bulking purposes. Let me clarify that i'm 170 at ~6'4 or 6'5. It doesn't take the same amount of calories at different heights to keep the same weight. Good point, I'm a lowly 5'8" My problem is I'll forget about fitday until like the end of the day- and then at that point it's not accurate enough to be useful. Need to get used to it.
That's why I found the phone app so useful, it's always with me, so I put the calories in right while im standing in my kitchen cooking. Doesn't get more accurate.

Funkie broke 105kg so i had to too. Went like 2/10 on 100kg snatch then went 1/1 on 105 and 110. BEAST MOOOOOODE
Got doubles @ 90 super easy and 95 was very solid. Feeling better about my snatch. Dimsum got anything to work on the lockout? I got 100kg over my head many times but couldn't keep it there and stand up with it. Also did a double CJ @ 120 new pr (not that i've really tried, but damn that was tiring! almost lost both cleans but refused to let it go cause i havent missed a clean in months or something lol)

Almost didn't go, but went anyway after Yoga
Squat: 4-4-4 @ 250 lb
Something really cool happened with squat today; I set up my spotter bars at my usual height, then during one of my warm-up sets, I hit the bar as I was coming down, so I moved it down one more --> I'm going even lower
Bench: 5-3 @ 195 lb
I think I'm going to give up on bench for a while; I've been stuck around 195 since forever...
DL: 4x1 @ 295

Dear jesus. I break my PR snatch by 5 and then you have to go and smash your squat by 10+?? They must put something magical in the food down there. Fucking crazy progress funkie
Realizing Ill have access to mostly unlimited food this summer (yay for parents food) i'm considering bulking 20 pounds. I just have no idea how i'm going to do without powerlifting too much which will hinder my oly lifting all while playing summer rugby rofl. Probably just have to get on the creatine + 5000 calorie a day diet!

Nice. The lower the squat the sexier IMO (harder to do more weight though obv lol)
You might want to try switching it up to dumbell bench press for a bit or incorporate some extra exercise are the part you think is lacking. (either chest, triceps, or shoulders) I know snatching helped my bench go up w/out even benching i'm assuming from the increase in strength it added to my shoulders.

I used to do inclines after benches, I might go back to that.
I reset my bench form back in late-Jan, and I was doing more with my old form (flat back) back then.
Fuck that, form > numbers.
I'm going to learn to do snatches after this semester (i.e. during summer break). It's gonna be awesome.

Yeah, I was stuck at 195x5 for a while... probably the second time I reset from that weight I crawled up to 208x5 at 2 pound/session progression. Around the same time I also started incorporating weighted dips, which seem to have helped.
At plateaus I've heard a lot of options, but here are some of them:
1.) Cluster training:
Do 90-95% of your 1RM, rack the bar, rest for 10 seconds, do another rep, repeat 4-5 times.
2.) Changing rep counts:
Do 6 reps. Do 3 reps. Max out at 1 rep every once in a while. Try 3x10 instead of 3x5.
3.) Try different movements:
Try a dumbbell bench press for a few months. Try weighted dips.
These are some of the options the big names (DeFranco, Starr, Rippetoe, Tate) recommend for true non-technical stalls.

^thanks rosa, I'm gonna try doing some additional inclines and eat more (i'm going to cancun this thurs, meaning i'm done with this cutting bs)

nice job, you might just be tired. I really don't know what carries over in the snatch lockout.
i tweaked my elbow again when I attempted 90 again today. i iced it and hope its better by tomorrow Also, my diarrhea is not going away, I think im gonna go see the doctor....

Me, posting outside of the health and fitness initiative?! A rarity.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=209260¤tpage=2
I'll just quote it here:
+ Show Spoiler +I go to the market every day or once every two days. It's just easier to live this way in Japan--Japanese products are extremely fresh and have very short shelf lives due to a lack of preservatives. Here are the foods I usually buy at the market:
Staples: Buy when I run out, often times daily Eggs Olive oil Green tea Black coffee (my guilty pleasure) Whole milk (4.5%; depending on my diet at the time)
Fatty Proteins: Buy 1 per shopping trip Chicken drumsticks Ground beef Steak Beef shortribs Beef boned ribs Bacon Pork and beef sausage Salmon (rarely) Tuna (rarely) Ikura (salmon eggs; rarely)
Lean(er) Proteins: Buy 1-2 per shopping trip Boneless skinless chicken breasts Porkchops Shrimp Scallops (rarely) Halibut
Vegetables: Buy 3-4 per shopping trip Sweet potatoes Onions Spinach Cabbage Avocados Tomatoes Mixed salad Bell peppers Eggplant
Fruits: Buy 1 item every three days, unless I'm dieting Apple Orange Banana Strawberries (usually I go for these for the health benefits)
This is all I buy at the store, unless I'm forgetting something. My general cooking practice is to throw some olive oil in a pan, add a cut up protein, brown it, lower the heat, throw in 2-3 veggies, season everything, cover for 3-4 minutes, and eat.

my grocery list looks pretty much the same, except I buy huge amounts of cottage cheese as well
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=209260¤tpage=3#58
+ Show Spoiler +a typical shopping cart for me looks like this:
whole milk eggs cottage cheese some sort of dead animal (mostly steak, skinless boneless chicken/turkey breast, ground beef, bacon and salmon) salad broccoli zucchini frozen raspberries random fruits/vegetables that are in season
every other week I buy olive oil, aceto balsamico, butter, potatoes and white rice in bulk
if I feel naughty I buy some dark chocolate (80% cocoa)
what you will never find in my shopping cart: pasta bread pastry cereals tofu peanuts

We have this rack at the gym where you can do pullups, dips, leg raises etc.
I decided to try something a bit different, got on, did 12 pullups, jumped down, 12 dips, on the ground, 12 pushups, up again, 10 pullups, 10 dips, 10 pushups, 8, 7, 6 , 5 etc etc.. No rest.
I was well Knackered by the end of it, I'm now cooking lasagna because fuck you.
