I do Crossfit and like it a lot, but gyms are going to vary considerably. Even at the gym I go to, some of the coaches are awesome and some are worthless. Crossfit with small classes and good coaches is like cheap personal training and major peer motivation without the commercial gym bullshit. They provide chalk, have bumper plates, and no one's going to bitch at you for lifting barefoot either. I could write an essay on my issues with it, but overall I think Crossfit is good.
I was thinking about volunteering there so I can help teach olympic lifts. I just like being in the gym. haha

Relationship problems? Do SS and eat like a fucking horse. Don't have appetite? Drink your milk, and lift like a fucking boss? Wanna look like decaf? Fuck, Eat, drink and get drunk. Fuck si. Wanna feel better all around, make bitches call you a 10, and fuck like a 20? Do SS, Eat your milk, ask for advice, scream random shit, and be the best person you can be.
Took it easy today, just did a few doubles at 110 then smashed 115 120 125 130 (rofl i have no concept of taking days off) and then did some triples for snatch at 60/70 and a few reps at 80

Do you stare straight at the ceiling, or at the bar as it moves up and down or in between or what? I find that when I follow the bar a little with my eyes that that is when I can execute the best form. Also, how do you breathe? Do you hold your breath at any point in the exercise? I've been watching the ripptoe DVDs and he really doesn't clarify it there. I think the SS wiki says to hold your breath as youre performing the reps.
SS uses the valsava maneuver for breathing for all exercises. Basically this means you don't breathe at all during your reps, only between reps. This makes it easier to keep your body tight throughout your whole range of motion. While other breathing can work, some things can cause problems, i.e. I see alot of people inhaling on the way down, but their bodies aren't tight until the bar is at their chest and those kind of things.
Ah yes, thats what they call it in the wiki too. Is it kosher to breathe out as you're doing the exercise? Say you're squatting, you take a deep breath before you go down, hold is as you're going down, then you release it while going up.
I want to bulk up because I'm a really skinny guy, but I don't know what types of food I should be eating. According to this online calculator thing my maintenance for calorie intake is 1800 (I weigh something like 120-125 pounds right now, 19 yo male, 5'5).
I heard I should be eating 6 meals a day, but how many total calories a day should I be taking in? And what types of food are good for bulking up? Carbs? Right now I eat whole grain nutella and peanut butter sandwich with a glass of 1% milk for breakfast.
A yogurt during the day some time before lunch, then for lunch I eat a whole grain sandwich with 4 slices of lean turkey meat and lettuce, plus tomatoes and a slice of non processed cheese.
Then after that I just eat dinner. So I'm still missing out on a lot of the "small meals" I should be eating. I just don't know what to eat though.

I've heard the release of the pressure you build up can help you squeeze out a bit of extra power, which would explain the thunderous roars you may hear in mine and sjarls heavy deadlift vids, and why I seem to let out an involuntary shout at the second pull of a heavy clean.

ditch the grains, and start eating meat and dairy (if you can, and don't forget your veggies!) until it hurts. I would try to get at least 2500-3000 calories if I were you in addition to doing the stArting strength program in the OP. good places to start are eggs, whole milk, and fresh ground beef/chicken breasts.
try to get rid of as much of the processed foods as possible (bread nowadays, grains/pastas/etc.) and go with the whole milk, eggs, meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, etc. Stuff yourself to busting every meal.
Lift heavy weights full body 3x a week like Starting Strength or StrongLifts and there you go.

I don't like any type of bottle where they don't display the nutrition facts. Typically out of 1-1.2 g capsules they only have about 300mg of EPA+DHA in them from what I've seen. SInce this product does not list its nutrition facts you just don't know which is shady.
And yes, you are looking for just EPA+DHA
This is the one I use.. liquid and very cheap per the amount of EPA+DHA in it (liquids are generally cheaper than the pill counterparts). Very good reviews overall, very cheap.
every 5mL of the stuff that eshlow linked has 1,100 mg of EPA+DHA, whereas you need to take 4 huge pills that you linked to get the same amount. I chug a tablespoon in the morning (3g of epa+dha), which would be the equivalent of 12 pills.
You can probably find the liquid version at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, it is just so much more convenient
Hot damn. So today was the first time I lifted in a long time. It's harder than I remember lol. And I'm a lot weaker now. Probably been over three years.
Squat: 50lb (I think the average for a novice is 85lb?) Benchpress: 50lb Deadlift: 70lb
This gym is pretty garbage though. Sure it's a 15 million dollar facility but they're lacking 10,5 and 20lb weights. Also they don't have bumper plates for deadlifts.
Speaking of which, what do you guys recommend when they don't have bumper plates and you have to use plates of varying sizes?
Things that amused me.... Some guy before me was at the squat rack and he took the bar, held it on his shoulders as if he was gonna squat and then preceeded to do lunge like stretches in a crucifix position. He also added some 5lb weights which kept falling off as he "stretched". People seem to do every exercise imaginable at the squat rack besides squats. Also there was some guy with a pony tail talking to the girl at the counter for about an hour prodding her for her phone number, she was giving the help me eyes for the longest time.

No, the stuff I got (same as eshlow) is fine, it just taste oily with a hint of Orange. I either put it in some Orange juice or swirl it around with a bit of water and then slam it.
@warrior madness, yeah you'll run into a lot of shit that bothers you if you can't find a good gym I have a nice low key high school I work out at with everything I need. Just deadlift with the metal plates and try not to drop it too loudly. If someone is wasting time try talking to them politely.

How are you able to work out at a highschool? That'd be great. When I used to go to judo some of the guys told me they crosstrained with highschool freestyle wrestlers as well.
