So I'll probably buy some chucks, but for now I'll have to sneak sets while no ones looking I guess -_-

I'm looking to buy some weightlifting shoes, but having problems finding some at a reasonable price in europe/denmark. I see you guys mostly recommend chucks, adidas and not much else. Are those chinese shoes Do-win out of question? I'm currently squating in cheap running shoes asisc's I think their named. Poor student ftl. Spending all my monays on the food. Oh yeah and the confidence boost + weightlifting got me laid this weekend. "You know my friend? he lifts 3 times a week" "oh really?"

Haha not yelled at so much just asked by management to put shoes on... I'm sure barefoot would get a bullshit response of being really unhygienic in commercial gyms, which is why I didn't do that in the first place tbh. They were like "you can slip and fall", and I mean I understand they obviously don't want a lawsuit from some dumbass that breaks himself from doing stupid shit... Chucks are the cheapest option (besides barefoot) if you're just doing squats/deadlifts, and I'd just say go with those if you have no interest in olympic lifts. Dowins are fine, they just have some quality issues iirc and don't last as long, which is why most of us here tend to shell out some more for rogue/risto/adidas/nike which should last years. High five on getting laid :D although around these parts most people don't understand recovery/overtraining, so saying you only workout 3 days a week usually makes people think you can't handle more or aren't a serious lifter ![]() ![]()

For weeks this one staff member at my gym would be giving me the stinkeye. When I was benching, he told me to attach clips to the ends of the barbell even though he NEVER enforced that rule with anyone else, and would have loud, obnoxious conversations with the bench bros who come in and hog the one bench press we have for 1.5 to 2 hours. Anyway, one day he's giving my shoes the usual stinkeye and I say to him "What is it? You always stare at my shoes." He goes "I don't think those shoes are really appropriate for the weight room..." Yeah. Olympic lifting shoes aren't appropriate for the weight room. I told him to watch the Olympics some time and have been ignoring him since. I swear to god you'd think people working at a gym would know a thing or two about lifting weights.

You have no idea how happy I was when I heard a personal trainer say to a new guy that he tries to give his clients workouts centered around squats, deadlifts, and press/bench press. The way he talked it sounded like he's on track with compound lifts, I'm sure he has to include other accessory exercises for sales purposes in the commercial gym and to make things sound more complicated than they should be for a beginner.

Been feeling a little run down yesterday/today, sore throat and shit like that. Maybe it was because of the large project that we finished today (2 hour lecture about some communication stuff QQ) and stress related to that. Pumped it up with about 15k IU of D, some C and fish oil. Getting sick is not an option. Went for an late (starting at 23.30 lol) session. Ramped up to my old push press PR (85kg). Took it down on the second attempt and then proceeded to do 87,5kg. Getting sick is not an option. Heavy deads (the infamous week 4 of Coan-Philipi) on saturday.

Good stats! But don't they even have a rack? Since if they do then it is no problem dropping the bar if you get stuck in the hole.
