only US citizen can play on this site?
|
|
There is plenty of sources claiming mywot is corrupt and generally low rating sites. If that is true I don't know, but I myself wouldn't trust mywot.
|
this tourney is in teamliquid.net's sponsored threads, surely it must be reliable and trustworthy and will reward the deserving winners? gonna find out how to join and see if im free
|
No idea why mywot's rating is slightly below average. They even gave GamerSaloon.com a poor rating on child safety! I guess that must be due to some language within the shoutbox. I work for GamerSaloon and our 450,000+ members have nothing but good things to say about us!!
Prompt payouts and we pride ourselves on having the best customer service in the industry. You can call and actually speak to a real person!
CBlast - You do NOT have to be a US citizen to become a member.

We've been in business for 6 years now and consistently rank highest in customer service.
We've been making a big push to get more involved into the Starcraft arena and you will be seeing a lot of tournaments popping up on GamerSaloon.com.
If you could create your ideal Starcraft 2 tournament, what would it be?

We are always trying to give our users the best possible experience so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!

wow gamersaloon! i was really into money matches for COD4, before the genre got a little old. they have a very good system to insure you get paid, and you can have like 5$ matches of 1v1 in sc2 and stuff.
It's interesting to see if this gets popular; the idea is SOOOOOOO cool i think just a lot of people are lazy and scared to try new things. So i don't know if gamersaloon will take off or not but regardless, i used to be very satisfied with all your services. The one thing was there was only like..15 games ever at one time and they were all fucking GOOD (or they wouldnt be betting money, right?)
But i could see myself putting up money for myself in sc2; it has much more of a luck element than other games on gamersaloon i played, so who knows. i've 1-1-1ed like the whole ogs protoss roster on their NA accounts, just fake the bunker at the natural and hide your tech. Sometimes there's just no way to know what's coming

What server is this tournament on?
|
And can you only get paid in Saloon bucks?
|
yea which server is this hosted on?
|
|
The tournament is on the GamerSaloon.com server. We've been running online tournaments for 6 years! The cash that is in your account is just referred to as 'Saloon Dollars' but it is the same as real cash and can be withdrawn via paypal or check anytime!
|
Everyone is welcome to test out our free tournaments to get familiar with our system. In fact, you don't ever have to enter a paid tournament if you don't want to. Though, the prizes tend to be bigger for the paid entry tournaments.
|
Gamersaloon.... you still have to choose a Region or you can't even open the Starcraft 2 game. We are asking what region can participate in this tournament?
|
It is the American region. If that is not your region, please contact Blizzard via phone and they will change it for the tournament.

I can vouch for GamerSaloon. They recently approached me looking for affiliation to assist their upcoming tournament, so naturally I did some research. I'm pretty sure the mywot reviews regarding child safety are merely because the tournaments consist of your typical gamer who might be using bad language or something silly, plus there are tournaments where you pay to enter, so it can also be considered a gambling website, which has stated is for over 18s only, so I don't really see any issues.
In terms of reliability, there's no reason to be hesitant. While I was searching, I only came across positive feedback from people who'd received plenty of money from tournaments in the past and never encountered someone stating anything like they hadn't been paid.
Personally I see no reason for this not to be beneficial generally. A trusted organisation is getting involved with SC2 and including cash prizes that anyone can participate in. There aren't enough of those these days. Playhem are the only main ones I can think of that's open to anyone with cash prizes. It's a pretty good opportunity for the higher level players.
And yeah, right now the tournaments are being held on NA, but if they get enough attention, we could probably convince them to expand to EU servers seeing as it wouldn't exactly take much effort on their behalf, but increase the number of participants hugely. Guess it all depend on the feedback they get with the upcoming tournament.

Please buy the game and play the game... There is NO possibility that you can run SC2 other then Blizzard servers...

just like you essentially :host: a tournament on Challonge/z33k/Playhem ('s server), and then play the game.... on the game? -_-

Why do they require our phone number? Also shouldnt giving our address be optional? I can see how having our address could help when it comes to pay outs, but like he said you can get your winnings via PayPal which most people have. Also what is to keep them from releasing our telephone #'s to a company who will bombard us with telemarketers? I asked them this last night and have yet to get a response...
