LoL, the vid was a game vs iNcontroL, that's pretty clever. Good luck with your coaching, sir! Reasonable rates + quality coaching = great success. Looks like you're well on your way.

Why iNcontroL would have the right to question desRow's skills is beyond me. Their achievements in SC2 seem to be very similar.

Sucks that someone had to come here and start a big argument and derail a thread which desRow has actually paid for. desRow hasn't done anything bad and even apoligized to iNcontroL if he didn't like that he used a replay of them playing instead of him rolling some low master scrub.

Did you check the TL match history? Numbers don't mean anything in this case. The people Incontrol faced are far better than anyone Desrow played besides Sjow or DDE, whom Desrow lost to 0-8. Their records on bnet look similar except I believe Incontrol has a pretty high bonus pool still. Why are you guys going so far to prove Desrow is equal or superior to Incontrol? Desrow made a a mistake with his video ending on Incontrol saying GG. I have never seen anything like it in all the coaching profiles I've read. "BTW I beat this guy with a 4 gate".

I also don't have a problem with Desrow as a player or coach, which he seems to have good reviews. I honestly think he should remove the video and maybe just include a replay pack instead.

I wasn't going to spill the beans on his dota reputation but you did call this pretty evenly.

http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays.php?&p1=desrow&format=5on5

This is just one of many sites-He only uploaded games to gosugamers where his team won.ONLY wins. Didn't matter if it was a GG. He pretty much always plays STr-supports, the type of hero that can't be blamed for the loss yet can call out the supports and carries for failing, which was his Calling-card in dota.

As for the comments between incontrol and desrow.... thats no contest Incontrol understands the game way better and doesn't even seem to try half the time he ladders. Theres also a reason Incontrols rates are so good and his students love his lessons.

Gosugamer asked me to submit replays. I was playing everyday in every in house league, why would I turn them down ? Never said I was a top player in DotA. I didn't mention my DotA background I never won any money for DotA so I never considered myself as a professional DotA player or as a top DotA player. But you and the guy above calling me out is understandable. The mentality of DotA fans is made this way.

Okay,

Gosugamer's didn't ask you to upload replays, don't even try and play that card, and if an admin working there asked you to - it most certainly was not because of your skill and it to make it out to be like that was the norm is a joke, you uploaded games of you winning and professionals and users all called you out on it.

Mentality of DotA fans? You we're one of the most hated people in the scene because lied, sucked up to anyone by way of "managing" teams and then claiming your a pro because you can now play in the house games and got invited into the leagues via you claiming what you could.

There is nothing wrong with the DotA community and it's players, you just didn't get to suck your way like you wanted so to collectively call out the "mentality" of DotA fan's just proves your ignorance even more.

If this guy has changed, good for him, but it should be known he is a well documented liar and will paint himself in the best possible light to get where he wants.

I know him too from dota and i clicked on the first 3 games of your link and 2 times his team lost. So its not right what you are saying he posted many games where his team lost.

anyway thumbs up for desRow

Yeah, Desrow, wtf is wrong with you.

Why would anyone who's trying to earn money coaching post a replay of them beating someone well-known on ladder?! You should have made a compilation of you beating 100 unknown players and then put that together in an hour long youtube video montage, it'd be much more impressive.

wat

Seriously, there are a ton of idiots permeating in this thread. If you beat a good player in ladder, or you play good players regularly and can beat them, ever, of course it's something to mention, especially when you're advertising. Sure, it might have just been a 4gate game, but out of the entire Starcraft community, how many people do you think could beat Incontrol, even ONCE, in a PvP?

Is Desrow better than incontrol? I wouldn't think so; incontrol's on EG, he's a pretty baller player, and I'm pretty sure he practices on a pretty regular basis.

Is Desrow a better coach than incontrol? I'm not sure, I know that incontrol is pretty analytical but I've never heard Desrow give lessons before.

I didn't get the impression of either of these things from reading his OP or watching his video. The things that I notice are that he charges pretty low rates (compared to gosucoaching people) and that he's got some accomplishments in terms of tourney play, and that he's also able to at least beat a pro one time (I'm sure he's beaten other well known people, as well).

People need to chill the fuck out and stop trying to play the "SAVE MY INTERNET REPUTATION" game every time someone makes a thread on TL, sheesh.
To achieve perfection is to sacrifice growth.

If you didn't notice, incontrol hasn't posted for quite some time. Probably doesn't even look at it anymore, the only people keeping that stupid argument alive are you by discussing it over and over, you're just beating a dead horse or however you call that.

It's pretty sad.

So could we just get back to Desrow's coaching and stop derailing the thread he actually spent his well earned money on?

Yeah, desrow cares a lot about all of his students.

Desrow also has the best fucking analogies of all time. They're fantastic.

i'm a friend of desrow + geoff and been reading through the past few pages of chat and must say i am inclined to agree with incontrol... kinda came off as "look who i beat so you should get coaching from me because im -thismuch- cheaper"

people bringing up the difference between what incontrol charges and what desrow charges is completely ridiculous. simply because a player is competent at the game does not automatically mean that they are for surea good teacher. sure they can do what is required to win games, but i see many of these high-level players claim to be good coaches and when i watch some, if they stream them as it's getting more common, they simply tell their student what to do and when.

watch incontrol's vods of lessons tos ee how he differs from these aforementioned coaches (i wont list names because i'm friends with most of them and have no desire to personally attack them), is that he gives the reason "why" the student should be doing something, not merely pointing them in the direciton and promising they'll hit masters (exaggeration but you can understand what i mean)

anyways i wish desrow the best of luck from one coach to another

So he spends 1 hour telling bronze players they need to macro better? That's a bit steep even if you do it with InControl's charisma.
