Test a free iPhone game by Fula Fisken
Hello TL'ers!
I started a game developer studio with my friends not long ago, Fula Fisken. Since I am a dedicated Starcraft fan and active on Team Liquid forum I thought this is my chance to contribute to the e-sport scene, and Team Liquid.
We just released a free iPhone game, Kolleagues. The target group is basically all ages, from a 4-year old to your grandmother. But, since we are gamers ourselves we still want the game to be somewhat of a challenge for hardcore gamers.

Downloading it right now, tbh it looks like this labyrinth with the ball to me, is it the same?
|
It's interesting, but I can't see myself playing it very much. + Show Spoiler [Feedback questions] + 1. I don't remember, because it doesn't say in the high score page 2. No. 3. 77 4. The way I lost bothered me. After getting all of my little guys to the end, I noticed that there was someone that I hadn't gotten yet, because he sort of blended in with some other stuff around. I realize there's the flashing icon for a guy you have to get to join you, but it wasn't enough. Since I had already sent all of my guys though the end door, I couldn't pick him up, and I had to watch him stand there until the time ran out and I lost. Also, I personally dislike most sorts of humorous mispellings, such as kontract, but that might be just me.

Looks fun, any chance for an android version?

1. I failed on the first level >_> 2. Hell no 3. 100 4. Eh not really... I thought the chair was a person, but then I realized people glow and chairs don't. I played again and found it confusing that I started with people spread throughout the level, but again I'm not sure if that's the kind of thing you are looking for.
|
Would try it out but I have an android. Let us know if you do end up releasing a port.
|
It's pretty fun, is there a way to continue from the level you failed on?
I reached level 7? i think on my first try and a pension age of 59

I just started developing games for the iphone/ipad/andorid marketplaces too since I am an experienced developer I thought I'd just on the band wagon of these mobile apps :D glad to see a fellow TLer giving it ago too! Awesomeness
1. couldn't find this 2. No. 3. 55 4. A little hard to make out all the objects from this perspective, as someone says the chairs kinda look like people.
|
1. 4 2. No 3. 77 4. Same problem with CRDude. Missed a guy because I didn't see him as he was blending in with the chairs.
|
1 don't remember, the one with a maze 2 no 3 62 4 please add a way to calibrate the default angle. The wy you hold the phone changes vastly weather you are standing, sitting, or laying down.
|
1. failed on level 1 cause I didn't realize I had to tilt so far to move my guys faster 2. no 3. 62 4 the 3...2..1.. gets annoying, I mean I hate it in SC2 but atleast the games are 10 minutes long, when I loading screen is closer to 15% of play time it is too long.
|
This game is pretty cool.
1. I'm not sure but I think it was level 5 or 6. 2. Not yet, but I do enjoy playing it so I think I will later. 3. 69 4. I only failed the level because I didn't notice that there was another person right infront of the exit point. I thought he was a chair. Perhaps make the guys you need to collect red, while the ones you control are blue?
|
1. 6? 2. no 3. 66 4. well I lost because I pushed a couple of potted plants to the door and they blocked me in and I couldn't figure out how to move them away. I don't know if that's intentional or not, but it's basically game over if you somehow manage to manner plant block yourself.
|
What level did you reach on your first try? 6 Did you finish the game? Yep What pension age did you reach? 81 on first attempt Was there anything particular about the user interface that bothered you? Chairs blocked and prevented progress a few times. That was frustrating.

1.i think like 12 or 13 its the 1 with all the what looks like wood crates that dont move. 2. no 3. pension age: 34
enjoyed the game but i find the people get stuck on objects like desks and wont move for a few seconds in any direction.
|
1. What level did you reach on your first try? Eh, dont know about number but the one where its basically a maze 2. Did you finish the game? No. 3. What pension age did you reach? 62 4. Was there anything particular about the user interface that bothered you? I dont think it was clear enough how long time you had left - the counter wasn't in a good location/not visible enough - also; level counter!
|
What level did you reach on your first try? 1 Did you finish the game? Nope What pension age did you reach? 76? Was there anything particular about the user interface that bothered you? It was very slow and un-responsive. I had to tilt the iPhone so much I couldn't see what the screen looked like.

Feedback Questions What level did you reach on your first try? Level 4 Did you finish the game? No What pension age did you reach? 57 Was there anything particular about the user interface that bothered you? I'd love the option to calibrate the iphones tilting default angle. And maybe an easy mode where you can save.
|
1.- 4 2.- Nope 3.- 77 4.- Nope, but the colors could be a little brighter, make a good use of the iPhone Screen (specially retina). I really liked, and as someone said above, the calibrate option would be awesome .
|
1. 4 2. no 3. 4. Funny idea! But this many people stacking in the chairs blow up my mind! ;/
|
I really liked the idea and the mechanics seemed solid.
+ Show Spoiler + What level did you reach on your first try? - 3 Did you finish the game? - No What pension age did you reach? - 60 Was there anything particular about the user interface that bothered you? - If possible, allow for the adjustment of tilt sensitivity, or increase the maximum run speed. - The interface was engaging and fun, but only during the menus. In-game, I felt that there was simply too much on the screen, it wasn't obvious which workers were active and inactive until I started the level and they moved.
As for additional comments, it's obvious that you guys put thought into the learning curve of the game, but I think it should be a lot more shallow. While I can only speak for myself in this regard, I don't want to feel -challenged- until like... level 10. The time constraint, combined with the very rapid introduction of new game mechanics (bathrooms, copiers etc.) was overwhelming. I didn't even realize how these worked until my second play-through.
I think that you guys have a very cool idea in a labyrinth with an increasing number of moving parts, and it doesn't seem like the game puts enough focus on that. Instead, you throw all of these impediments at the player before they even begin to understand how to control the dudes.
A game that, in my mind, did this better than any other was ValvE's Portal. A huge portion of the game was devoted to teaching the player how to interact with the game world, and by the time they encountered more difficult puzzles, it wasn't a matter of game understanding but instead a matter of solving the puzzle.
A way that you could implement this would be to have one level be a straight hallway where the player is essentially -forced- to complete it successfully. Then have the second level where the player must collect a group of people, before navigating through a hallway with -one- turn to it.
Looking forward to playing the game at release!

cant download it properly now its broken on my phone.... -__-"
I will gladly try if i can get it to work
|
will it work with an itouch?

1. 3-5 before I stopped 2. No 3. Not sure 4. I'm not a huge fan if tilt games in general
|
1. What level did you reach on your first try? idk like 4 or 5 - died bcuz i didn't see the worker 2. Did you finish the game? no 3. What pension age did you reach? 73 4. Was there anything particular about the user interface that bothered you? not exactly an interface problem but i wish there was a bit of a tutorial. the information thing didn't really hlep much
|
1. First try I died on level 4 or something cause I missed one employee and I got all my active ones through the exit 2 & 3:

4 The game doesn't have any features that make it interesting. Graphics are pretty bad, the tilting isn't something new/original so the gameplay gets old after 1 or 2 levels. Try to come up with something new, I only finished the game cause I wanted to for testing purposes.
obv I understand its one of your first Iphone based App projects so with that in mind, good job!
|
Level 3, I think. Got wall blocked by chairs. Second go was level 8.
Nope.
86 I think on the first go. Second go was low 70s.
UI was fine but I was getting really frustrated because it was really unresponsive to tilting up compared to the other directions. It may have been an issue with my iPhone or the position I was playing it in but I had to nearly tilt it so far to the other side to the point where I couldn't see the screen.
Good work btw, it's a fun game ;p

Just have to ask if its supposed to be "kontract" and not "contract"? Saw that youre Swedish so it kinda made me curious to why it was spelled with K.
Ill try and download this game once I get my Iphone connected to the wi-fi again!

Ok, just had to check. Ive seen way stranger misstakes than that so you never know. Meant no disrespect.

Feedback Questions - What level did you reach on your first try?
I think it was 4 or 5, no way to go back and check. Should add as info with your final 'kontrakt'. - Did you finish the game?
Not yet - What pension age did you reach?
74 - Was there anything particular about the user interface that bothered you?
- Took me 3 rounds to figure out that you could bash your character into stuff like cactus and just carry on your way! Brighter colored 'kolleagues' might have been helpful, too.

This game is actually really fun, but it's very challenging. I felt that there was JUST enough time each level. That being said, the dialog's grammar and concept are just hilarious! Wonderful as a free app,

Hey are you the guys who created "Sudoku and friends" :D? I just love it, it was a really great idea to develop the game! I assume it is you who have been solving sudokus with the nickname Tef? I think it was really cool you made a point system. IMO you should make a ranking ladder system, I am sooo much in love with solving sudokus on that site!

1. 9 2. no 3. 58 4. Tilting could be more sensitive. It is difficult to see when the ipod is tilted 90 degrees away from you.
|
1.lvl 6? 7? 2.No 3.60s 4.Tilting thing get old quick. Also things get stuck too easily.
|
7 no around 50 I lost because i forgot one guy. What i dont like is that it gets kind of repetitive. A ton more levels but being able to "check point" would be cooler.
|
This is a pretty fun game!
1. I think it was 5 or 6. Can't remember. Was level with 3 rooms and the corridor at the top. Ran out of time because of the damn chairs.
2. Not yet
3. Salary: 20,503 Work Hours: 64 (was fun seeing these go down lol) Days off: 13 Pension Age: 72
4. Nothing really. Was generally fun. The chairs were damn annoying but obviously that's intended.
|
1.) 5 2.) No 3.) 74 4.) Nothing notable
|
funny game especially when you play it on a device as big as an ipad :p
What level did you reach on your first try? 5 Did you finish the game? no What pension age did you reach? 72 Was there anything particular about the user interface that bothered you? the mix between the next button and tap to continue was a bit odd at first but other then that it worked quite smooth
