1st ranked game of the day.
Team tells me to pick singed because the 5th pick wants to trade for him. I pick sure idc I'll trade sure. Proceeds to insta lock Annie for mid and I'm forced to play Singed in a ranked game when I've literally only played him once before. I go proceed to rape my top lane and end the game with a score of 9-2-16. We still lost though cause everyone else sucked.
2nd game 5th pick trolls us with picking a 2nd support and we have no jungle. We lose like 15-40 in 20min mark.
3rd game. 5th pick decides on a 2nd range AD carry when we needed a mid. Proceeds to feed 0-5 before we do any teamfighting. Also trolls whole game and calls everyone bad and steals jungle creeps WHILE we are attacking them saying she needs the feed.
I'm never getting out of this elo hell. I hate this game atm.

While I understand that yes, if you don't deserve to be in your current ELO, even with terrible teammates you will win over 50% and climb out of the hole, games like this always make me hate the idea that no game is uncarryable. + Show Spoiler + Neither I nor Akali did anything really wrong, we both had fairly good positioning and it honestly felt like neither one of us deserved to lose that game. I honestly just had the luck of getting a fairly competent Singed and WW (despite what the scores say), while Akali's only decent player was Kat. Leona was dying solo in the jungles 45 minutes into the game ffs.
And then immediately after that game I play a game as Trist. We get a trynd who bans Eve, Panth, and Twitch, keeps saying dumb shit like "what does gg mean", and a "jungle AP sion" who overextended so bad, he kept trying to gank bot while I was pinging morg was leaving mid to bot, hitting morg and their jungle udyr on the way, then bot rushes to save them, fight a 4v3 but no one is smart enough to run so end result is 10 minutes into the game morg is 2/0/6 while I'm 0/0/1. Because of this I'm sitting on a dorans, boots1, and like a axe, while she's rocking a catalyst, mpen boots, and a tome. So naturally our nasus top asks the other team to report me for feeding mid. I understand I could have played better, but I seriously had no answer for feeding of that magnitude. I always went bot almost immediately after morg (waited since I knew she was syncing with Udyr), and at best I might have been able to snipe a kill at the risk of dying and falling even further behind her. =/

wahhh. people are such assholes blaming each other and then not doing any better themselves.

I'm questioning the judgement of the tribunal now. I had a game yesterday where it turned out to be a pretty epic 80 minute game. However, during this game, all my teammates ended up going somewhere around 17-17 (give or take a few K and D for each player). Everyone was pretty 50/50, except me; I was 10-4. And team repeatedly bashed me for not contributing to the team, though I did. I think their problem was I was *dying* as much, at the sacrifice of a few kills on my score. They'd just randomly run through their jungle as I'd clear a wave that was pushed to our inhibitor, and when they'd die, I'd get "Great, fucking Kassadin (I was Kassadin) sitting in our base fucking around. You're reported." Eventually *ALL* my teammates hopped on this boat each time they died. And each time I got a kill: "Great. Kill stealing mother fucker. Reported, enjoy your ban." (Even though I was the only one who could reach him (with rift walk) and thought they should be thankful i was able to pick up the kill that woulda gotten away.)
I think a lot of the difficulty was us not having a legit tank, and our Xin (who led the charge on "reporting" me) wouldn't buy a Warmogs since he was our best bet at a tank. What do I get for asking? "Fuck you, you buy a warmogs"
So frustrated, my responses just turned into "k". Anything they say, I just say "k" in response to avoid conflict. "Reported for spamming" (though there was no spamming of any sort).
So I log in today....what do I get??? "Your account has been suspended until December 2nd, 2011.
:| :| :| Are you SERIOUS? REALLY? I had the balls to think that it didn't matter how many people reported you, it was the *content* of the report. Am I **really** being suspended for saying "k." ??? Or does the tribunal just take their word that I didn't contribute (though I most certainly did, if I had just pushed like there wasn't a base to defend, we would have lost a LOT earlier). This really puzzles me. I can't think of anything else. I left a game the day prior because I had to pick up my siblings from school, but I was under the impression that sorta ran on a different system (i.e. It'd just say "you left a game" and not "the tribunal blah blah blah")

You're never banned from just one game. That's a simple fact. I've disconnected from a number of normal games before and I've never been banned.

The lowest I've ever seen someone in the tribunal was with three separate games listed for various reasons, usually to do with behavior in game rather than leaving. Most cases have 5+.
Also realize that no punishment is ever handed out without a Riot employee issuing it.

I've been leveling up this account (it's an alt account) and I think I've disconnected 3 times in normal games and I got a suspension for a day (same as this one, but this one is from the tribunal).
I can't imagine what else would get me reported since I pretty much mute everyone the second I sense QQ. The most severe thing I've said is "that's just bad" or "are you serious" and I can't imagine getting a legit report for those.
It's not like it's a big deal to me since it's just an alt account, but I'm dumbfounded that their reports must have worked since it's probably the most confrontational I've gotten in a game. Like if there was a game to be banned from on my account, it was that game. But I can't imagine someone actually submitting "punish" for me pretty much just saying "k"
I guess I'll be a bit more careful with my words? I probably should have just muted them, but it got to be a pretty volatile game around 60 minutes in since everyone was pretty much full build, so I wanted SOME form of communication, even if I need to sift through the "OMFG Y U NO SAVE ME" as 5 enemies are piling onto a stray Xin.

Eh, I get Single games all the time in Tribunal, but you gotta be pretty blatant to get a punishment vote off one game. Mostly I skip the 1-2 cases reported unless it seems clear someone's been troll reported or someone is trolling like a caffeinated btard.
But yes, you're really at the mercy of those of us neckbearded enough to take the time and read logs of people raging.

Yet another 5v4 loss. Retards who go 0-7 tower diving. How to win: right click on creeps. And these retards cant even do that. How do you even lose 2v1 I don't even know.......

But yes, you're really at the mercy of those of us neckbearded enough to take the time and read logs of people raging. Because this is a community based initiative, it would require an overwhelming number of people to purposely decide to punish only to have a noticeable effect on the outcome of a case. Remember that each case is viewed by many Summoners and there must be a majority decision on the outcome. So statistically the chance of wrongful punishment is not very high.
Furthermore, Riot Player Support carries out regular audits of the Tribunal. So even if the Tribunal find you in fault, you will not be punished unless there is genuinely evidence that you are having a negative impact on the player base.

New pet peeve: People who autolock Talon mid and then rage all game.

Definitely relevant, and I suppose (according the the post's logic) I didn't "lead by example" and just shutting up and muting the Xin+everyone on team instead of poking with "k." Probably a bit of a troll vibe from it. t.t oh well, what's done is done.
On a slight tangent however, it does get annoying how everyone reports you for not doing exactly what you want, or even if you had a bad game. I've never seen a community rage as much as LoL xD

The one flaw with the system is that ragers/bad players are actually who report the most. One of my friends is a really good player but he rages too much just spam reports everyone who didn't do well as unskilled player and such. And there are a LOT such people who just spam reports on everybody just cuz they're mad or frustrated. Most level headed players don't bother reporting unless its something serious. I don't even report people for DCing if I feel that guy may be having legit connection issues etc. I usually vote in tribunal when like I'm patching a game or installing something. I don't like voting punish just cuz a person has a bunch of games where he had a bad KDR. I'd see if was legitimately trolling /feeding otherwise i'll pardon him. Atleast I'll go and check his profile in game before deciding to vote but how many people actually take the time to consider properly and give a fair vote?

Everyone has a slightly different style or basis on what to punish/pardon, that's the thing with community. I'd love to see it implimented that if you vote punish/pardon, you give a reason why as well, or even if punish, vote ban or warn.
I mean, essentially we're a volunteer filtration system, why would they not request just a bit more sorting from us?

LoL has the single worst online community in the world. not even a question. its not possible to play a game without someone raging, crying, or flaming. i swear. the children who play this game are fucking absurd
|
I'll admit I used to rage a hell of a lot in ranked, I've managed to stop now, mainly because I'm scared of getting banned and also because I like winning, and raging at retard teammates doesn't help that.
What I can't stand though is this petulant children in ranked who demand to play a certain champion/role and even if we already have that role they do it anyway then proceed to 'troll'.
The sad thing is I'm not sure if they are 12 year old kids or they are teenagers or even adults who are just idiots.

Of course, if you only report when necessary your reports will have higher levels of importance.

I personally don't go check profiles but make a judgement call on my part. The principle of the Tribunal is generally a case of "Would I want to be in a game with this person?" If no, you choose to punish.
Remember that the first action is always a warning. Think of it as Riot saying "Hey, tune down the rage a bit ok?" After this you then get banned for increasing durations of time. There is quite a generous number of low level temp-bans people get before they are perma-banned. If after all of these temp-bans you still haven't figured out what you're doing is wrong then I won't have any sympathy...

So long as your behaviour is good and you don't go off your rocker at people you should be fine. Just don't counter-flame or get mad. It's sad that people troll initially in ranked. However, this is an unfortunate consequence of "Newbie Island". Rest assured though, a lot of those troll accounts mysteriously disappear from ranked games after being reported...

...tbh I don't think anyone I know has gotten banned who hasn't legitimately deserved it... and my friends and I are pretty big trolls on occasions, and at other times, victims of shitty comcast internet. the only person who got permed feeds all day, often on purpose, rages hard, talks shit, and in general is not a person i'd keep playing with anyways -.-
so all in all... i don't think that bans are that easy to get... certainly infinitely easier to get banned off TL
