Yeah I noticed the same thing on several accounts I can observe closely (2 mine and few close friends), so it can't be just lucky/unlucky. There is a pattern, the game obviously can recognize lesser/better players among same elo group. The most obvious conclusion is that the system (Rito) tries to keep people at around 50% win rate by whatever means it can. Why is that, I don't know, maybe Riot are afraid that many people may quit the game if they are put in teams where no one can carry them for too long and demote too much, maybe they are afraid that there will be too many lucky win streaks, maybe both, maybe something else, no idea really, but most likely its business model/profits issue | ||

Last game, Thresh support. Mid at ten minutes: our yasuo has 23 cs and 0/4. Anivia up 50 cs 6/0. MF my adc was pushing vayne like crazy - too bad vayne was farming better under turret then mf alone. At 10 minutes mf was 40 behind. Pathetic | ||

I've been exploring the ways of being afk recently (not in ranked though), which means I've been going afk more and more, personally, when a normal game is catastrophic, and from what I gathered the punishment rules for afks are extremely simple. First off you will not ever be punished if you are afk for less than 3 minutes, even if you're reported "9x". The system probably does not take reports for "leaving the game" into account. It is based purely on the automatic afk detection system which counts you as afk after 3 minutes without any experience gain. Which is why people who stay at fountain then come back a couple minutes later, rinse and repeat, will not get punished for leaving. Even as of now (the system knows me as a frequent leaver) I don't ever get punished for leaving a game at 18 if I know there will be a 20 surrender. Being punished for the first time requires you to go afk quite a lot ; I received my first punishment after being clearly afk (3min+) about 5 times in a short amount of time (within a month). People who go completely afk (3 minutes or more) this frequently are very rare. After that though, the system knows you as a frequent leaver and you will be punished, with increased severity, after you're detected as afk 2 times. By the way, the punishment for leaving a game is lower priority queue, which means that people who tend to go afk will still be matched with "normal" people and the punishment system doesn't actually protect non-leavers from leavers. I don't know how hard it would be to get an actual ban solely from going afk but I'm guessing it's pretty damn hard. Basically Riot is more concerned about one's feelings being hurt, which warrants real bans, than about one's game being "unfair", but I'm not saying it's all evil marketing, etc. They probably know from stats than de facto, when someone intentionally leaves a game, the game is pretty much always done anyway. | ||

14/3/5 vayne 5/0/5 ezreal and lost both. The game with ezreal was utter despair. The game where I truly felt what being useless meant. They were steamrolling our turrets like papers while our ryze top 2/7 and katarina 1/4. Ryze did less damage than the thresh on the other team. It'd be cool if you like, let the lane push towards your tower, dropped some CC or otherwise made it possible for me to gank cuz not everyone is Nocturne or Rengar (except Nocturne and Rengar) and have super gap closers | ||
