MindelVK as the sacrificial lamb vs Onsyde lol
Spirit getting a 1-1 vs Maru and MaxPax a 2-0 vs Ryung don t seem completly out of this World to me So this might very well go to an ace match

In term of playoff implication, MYG would like to have 3 points from PH, although Firefly can take at least 1 map from Shin, and we dont know if Strange can continue his excellent PvP form. TL and KZG will be a near 50/50 split, where SR will rely on Reynor "1-1" reputation or Harstem pulling out another map upset from Serral.

I didn't expect this at the start of the season, but now I think the Freecs will be relegated. They are currently in a relegation spot. I don't see them beating either Mystery Gaming or BASILISK to gain some points in their last two matches.

They'll need SSLT to pull out something against MX tomorrow otherwise they are donzo.

Both Spirit and MindelVK were fighting hard, but the Onsyde dudes can reach another level in term of how to handle the tough situation. And I am seeing DKZ can get up to No.2 spot if things go their way.

I hope Serral takes care of his back with all the carrying he does for Team Basilisk.

Comical how the rest of the Basilisk squad keeps dropping points. Same series score as first place but 5 actual points behind lol.
|
Serral has to 2-0 constantly for them to avoid the Ace match, Trigger has improved clearly but still 6-12 in map, and Reynor is a 1-1 threat to his own team. They just carry the same form they had from last season into this one.

There's a decent chance Basilisk finish as the sole 10-1 team and ends up outside the top 3 lol

I think since "Finlands" NationWars win Serral has a back of steel.

It's kind of comical how poorly Reynor plays in WTL and non Mega Premiers. Losing to Ryung and Lambo 2-0? Lol.

Him and Rogue both clearly don't practice hard unless an event has a 6 figure prize pool. If they were tryhards like Dark/Serral Zerg would have won 90% of premiers the last ~5 years.

The next two games for Basil SHOULD be 3 pointers while Onsyde and SR will be stealing each other points next match.
Also Serral slump confirmed with a meager record of 17:4 in WTL

This is totally not a correct analogy, but for some reason I think of it in terms of basketball--there's a rec league at the gym in my city with some pretty good/D1 players, but we had someone who played in the G-league (basically NBA minor league) come in recently, and he smoked everybody. So I just imagine the gulf between a bench player and a superstar, and it feels like Kobe losing in 1-on-1 to Matt Barnes.
Obviously, sc2 =/ basketball, but I'm still surprised at the result knowing the gap in talent/mechanics/achievement, though we should probably be glad that's the case for varietal purposes. Also ZvZ lol.

I think I lost you throughout your analogy, but did you just call Reynor a "benchplayer"? ._. Dude has won the World Championship two times...

Nah Reynor's the superstar. But yeah, not a very serious comparison. SC has so much more variance that doesn't translate in the same way as pure, physical dominance.

We all watched the game and acknowledge that Reynor has played subpar comparing to his peak self. Obviously there is variance in esport just like regular sport, but its still an issue when your dudes or the team you cheer didnt perform to the expectation and lost. Just look at the current NBA and you find the guy like AD, who can be dominant but his "motor" just run at half capacity at time, and everybody seeing that.

Reynor is unusually shaky in WTL, even after we account for him playing worse when there isn't a massive tournament coming up. Outside of Katowice/Gamers8, Reynor has won HSC, gotten third in European regionals, and top 4 at ESL Masters Spring. While top form Reynor could do better than that, with individual tournament performances like that he still shouldn't be dropping maps to ReWhite, getting 2-0'd by Lambo, etc. Dunno what it is about WTL but he hasn't even been bringing his normal "off-season" level.

I understand we all expect more from Reynor but don't forget he is overall still the 8th best player in WTL
