to be fair, Maru is the turtler and the Zerg kinda has to react in some way. a lategame air siege unit that spawns free units and a spellcaster are kinda the obvious go-tos for that.
I really enjoy watching games like that, but I'm not sure I need a whole bo5 of it.

I think it's just that people following SC2 have seen a lot of Maru split map games vs Zerg so it gets old even though both Maru's and Reynor's big army control is very impressive

I don't think Serral would have lost that game after getting that far ahead. Still the best lategame Zerg in the world imo.

I think that if I'm Reynor, I'm not too worried. He had Maru number in the early game, he just wanted to end it to soon, it was an easy win for him

"the best lategame Zerg in the world" hasnt beat Maru in lategame at all for 8 months or something, now he try to finish Maru off in mid-game.

Serral lost a game vs Maru in lategame when he was far more ahead than even Reynor was here, on Blackburn

He might have done a better job closing it out in the mid-game, but I doubt Serral would have won if it went to late game split map.

Yeah, I know. But when I saw the expensive mech army get destroyed I had a moment of doubt.

Once Maru drags you into lategame you just can't crawl out. It must be so frustrating to play against. herO's solution was to try to force the victory and suicide as soon as he had an advantage.
On the other hand Reynor's early game really is perfect.

That game was 40 minutes of nothing happening other than them trading bases because their armies are slow so it's the only thing they can do, into two fights to win the game. At least it wasn't just one fight to win the game, eh?
