Tbf i am only biased against a bias, i guess to compensate? When I came to this game I was rotting hard for Scarlett, but then the overlooking of great players in favour of geographically more related people was quite disgusting...

HeRoMaRinE upsetting Maru would be pretty hype.

That would put us into the third 'death of Korean starcraft' era in the past 4 years

HM vs Rogue - only a sadist wants to watch that

Stargate openers are very strong. Don't forget that Ling runby did quite a bit of damage. I don't think Stats would have let that happen if it was on LAN. I'm unsure, quite a lot could just be nerves or genuine errors from Statsu.
I still think it's tough for Protoss given how much mileage they have to get out of fragile units like Oracles or prisms to a lesser extent to keep the Zerg from growing exponentially. Compared to when Stats and Serral were trading blows for a period when LANs were still a thing, it certainly seems like Stats is way more conservative with units like Oracles. Not sure if that's an adjustment for cross-server play or just the newer styles we're seeing these days.
Hey it's the best we can hope for and we're still getting some good Starcraft, so can only complain so much!

can you still attribute nerves to such an experienced, credited and storied player?

Why are people doubting Maru? This is going to be EZ 3-0.

Yeah, it's easy to be a fan of any player but when the casters or community go way overboard hyping one person (lets be honest, foreigners) it becomes hard to not just automatically root for the opposing player.
Knowing casters will keep going on about it for the next 18 months if one player wins makes you root against them.

Actually this is what amde me root against neeb/scarlett in the past alot of times, as i felt they were getting way too much hype (even tho they were obv rly good at times).

Absolutely, look at Trap earlier this week. Rare is the person who has completely conquered nerves and shows their best game every time they come out.
I do think ping is a debilitating factor that impacts particular styles and races more than others, but some mistakes just aren't attributable to it. Reynor let adepts in one game, Stats let lings in in the final game and those were just outright mistakes, not something they couldn't react to with 1/200ms added on.

The last straw for me with these casters was when Dark 4-0ed Serral at TSL6 and they decided to talk about how superior Serral is mechanically.

Man, the people in this thread would have completely stopped watching StarCraft if they'd been around during the Tastosis Nestea days.

I feel like that was different though, idk, because it was compared more directly to his peers I guess, and it was partially played as a joke

Considering the amount of times that Zergs have died to scouted all-ins, soul trains and other strats from the Big Book throughout SC2's history, it's kind of ironic to see the tables turned.
