TY did just lose to Cure in King of Battles that Maru won, but then again that was online and the stakes are much higher here. Head to head TY and Maru have a perfectly even record as far as matches go against one another. It should make for a very even match up.

Some wonky stuff, but overall I was kind of impressed. It‘s not just that he won 2 games, game 1 was really damn close and in game 4 the nydus was scanned just seconds before it was supposed to hit. I did not expect to go out of this series thinking Armani actually could have won this with how the games went.

At least he qualified but as expected it was difficult I don't wanna be that guy and say 'he didn't practice' but to be honest he didn't look like he did any preperation at all. Just standard 3CC marine tank ladder builds. Usually you expect himt to bring something special or turn it up a notch in GSL playoffs, or at least play the defensive lategames he's been going for lately. Also looked like his shoulder was hurting a bit, he kept holding and readjusting it during the series. I doubt he can practice 24/7 even if he wanted to.

Standard 3CC Marine Tank seemed like the perfect way to play vs. Armani though. When he tried to go for something else, Armani just defended it brillantly.

Game 4 even if Maru hadnt scanned the nydus he would have won anyway.

Maru brought up his ghost lategame and Armani won, although it appears it took every inch of his inner strength. Armani played well and while Maru didn't come up with anything special, he still tried his best and had a variety of builds. When Maru doesn't bring his a-game - that's the Parting v Maru RO8

At least he qualified but as expected it was difficult Maru kind of donated game 2 of the series with a REALLY awkward Banshee, Helbat Marine push that did nothing and put him pretty behind and then lost to a mass Baneling counter attack later. Game 5 of the series, Armani used a Lurker style but played it really aggressively which made the game awkward for both sides. I think Maru was mostly in a decent spot but made a critical error when he counter attacked and lost most of his Ghosts for practically nothing. Game 5 was the best game of the series overall, it wasn't very typical at all and Armani played it well for how strange of a game it was.

I’m not sure Armani has a run this deep for some time, but he’s really not been phased by each step up, perhaps he’ll be a permanent fixture in the regular Ro16/occasional deeper run kind of tier. A 4-2, reasonably close series with a really fun 35 minute long slugfest, about all most of us were desiring within the bounds of reason.
