I'd argue that there should be more controversy if there was no WB advantage. Playing only 1 match is considered advantage about anywhere. Comparing that to the advantage of being able to lose an entire series in the rest of the tournament is laughable. Losing an entire series is often a question of losing 1 game, cough Reynor, cough Serral. Either you severely misunderstand how double elimination works or you just dont care. Oh, i perfectly understand. I am just stating facts, both Reynor and Serral are in lower bracket over losing a single game in a series. Yep, but they're not out of the tournament even though they lost one series. It would be unfair for Clem in the finals to not have atleast a one map advantage after making it to the finals from upper bracket. As i said, elsewhere not having to play 2 matches in a day is considered an advantage of it's own. I believe that anyone who thinks that is advantage enough is an idiot.
That very much depends on the tournament schedule. In this tourmanent, yes you can argue that. But in a densely packed schedule like HSC it means a lot to have a few hours off while your opponent has to grind it out in a series.

That's inconsistent though. Throughout the entire tournament players in the lower bracket have to deal with the selfsame minor disadvantage when facing people dropping from the winner's bracket who played fewer games. But now suddenly for the finals that small disadvantage is 'enough' leaving the person in the winner's bracket as the only person who doesn't get two opportunities.
edit: I'm amazed that this is still going on with how badly Serral lost the build order matchup ending up down ten workers with basically the same comps. The late third snipe was really really big.

Yet another game where Serral attempts a hydra all-in and dies on lack of hydra speed. It's kinda funny but at least it's not game 5. Anyhow, i am fairly confident Reynor should take game 5 as well, but with my jinx abilities you never know.

jeez, these guys are so damn good you can't call the games as you would with normal ZvZ situations

Would be great if we actually used Gameheart to have different skins for improved visibility. That one ravager/ling vs roach fight on Serral's side of the map was awful to watch.

The inconsistency lies in the scheduling. If every match (regardless of LB or UB) has plenty of downtime before it to prepare and recover, then yes.
But if they play a tight schedule where players a playing almost non-stop and there is virtually no downtime between series at the end of the bracket, then it can be a big advantage to have a couple of hours off to relax and prepare for the finals.

Game 5, Submarine, deja vu?
|
Or we just pretend that "classic" is a different set of skins from the normal ones even though it results in almost every unit still looking the same.

Well yeah but the classic "set" changes like 3 units so if it's none of those that are fighting you didn't change anything.

True, we need classic mutas and classic lings... except they are identical between 2 games anyways.
EDIT: Yup, deja vu.

Serral vs Reynor always has such a great breadth of compositions.

Man, Reynor lives in Serral's head, holy crap it was a hell of out-positioning.

NOOOO. GG to Reynor though

Wow
A EU grand finals without Serral. First time since 2017.
