Yes. Korean Starcraft does not exist. And Katowice 2020 never happened.
Also Blizzcon 2019 never happened. And Katowice 2019. And Katowice 2018. etc

Yeah, for example I would expect Serral to have a higher chance of beating Clem than Reynor does Depends on how the Zergs show up, last season Clem almost beat Serral and then got destroyed by Reynor.

Yes, let's use high-ping online tournaments as the measurement for who's best.

I mean in a bubble, who would you expect to win vs. top Koreans? I'm betting the farm on Serral. I wasn't trying to create a Korean vs. foreigner debate, just saying it's not as simple as Reynor > Serral.

Yes, let's use a very specific mirror match-up as general statement of who's the best player of their race.
We all know Rogue inherited $o$ spirit anyway, so he wins, but sure, let's have fun.

Yeah I'm betting the farm on the Koreans, because betting on a bunch of top players is better than better on a single top player. That should be painfully obvious.
Other than that, I agree that it's not as simple as Reynor > Serral.

Just to make sure; If Clem wins the finals he's 100% the best terran player in the world yes?
LUL Koreans

I would like to see Clem flip the switch and go turtle mechs every game this time. Wishful thinking.

So did Clem get to pick which map he has the def win on?

You do you! Reynor/Serral have at least an even chance versus any top Korean you could name in any tournament.

I guess we can't do them at all
In particular when the last top online tournament showed something very different.
And fuck you corona, gives us back our premier online Starcraft!

Yeah, 6 40 minute long turtle mech games is what we need for this final. Too bad it's not late HotS turtle mech or it could actually come to fruition.

Serral definitely does better vs. top players in general than Reynor. He's at 73% set win rate against Korean players in 2020, the highest of anyone (#2 is Maru at 68%, #3 Stats at 65% so that's a big gap). Reynor is at 60% which is up there with the top Koreans but not nearly as impressive

That doesn't sound wrong in my ears but they still have to do it. Reynor failed completely at IEM Katowice. And top players tend to have these flukes every once in a while. Conversely, players who are sort-of-elite but maybe not all the time sometimes still have great results, like Zest taking out Serral at Katowice.
My point is: let's judge players on their results, not on how we think of their potential.

Based on the fact that it's Deathaura it looks like both players just pick maps, and whichever is left over is treated as the default win.

A unique loss to Trap while he beats Maru ? That's disappointing. Doyou cup and the warchest teamleague definetely invalidates this silly reasonning. Reynor is doing as well as Serral lately.
