Trap literally only won PvT 4-0 lol So we're Brood War now. P > T > Z > P T>Z ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/IEM_Katowice/2020/Statistics a) see my post after yours b) its wrong also, shows INno 4-0 for example which is incorrect. Welll, you put 30 question marks, i've just linked why people said it. Statistics are tricky, but once someone starts to selectively dismiss results, he's in no position to discuss the matchup. You have to selectively dismiss results. You do that to clear up statistics. Obviously its trickier in Starcraft as you will always have personal opinion mixed into it but I try to be as fair as possible. If you would match Has against Maru for example - while Has is progamer he is a lot worse than Maru. The match would yield you no real impact on the balance discussion. If Has wins 50% against Maru you can say the balance is busted though. You simply cannot argue on the terms of a whole tournament. Obviously this goes into each direction. I wouldn't count an avilo loss against Stats either in terms of balance-relevance. If you start down that road there's no reasonable and objective line where you stop. Ok, say you eliminate Maru vs Has games, pretty clear. But then why would you keep the rest of Has's games, we established he's the worst of the top 24, so non of his results should count. Or maybe some should? Special beating Has is meaningful but if Inno does it, then it's not anymore. And say you figure out player levels, and you say, ok these players count, the rest dont, which again, is already impossible to do right. Then comes the matchup difference, maybe Trap is just the best at PvT, so it's unfair to include him in the stat, cuz skews it. Or you count his games when it's against Inno, but not when it's against Bunny. But what if Bunny upsets this time, and takes him out? You suddenly re-include those games or revise ur criteria for selection based on the results? It cant be done in a meaningful way. It's just impossible, even for the most unbiased, most objective stats-man, which, excuse me, but you clearly arent (neither am I ofc).
If you choose to talk about results and stats and trends, the best you can do is to set a criteria, like all of the offline games at Katowize, that's pretty reasonable. Or maybe all of the games starting from the main stage, maybe that's better, but the sample size becomes much smaller, but still, you absolutely cannot start to handpick results that you include in ur stats, or it's not meaningful at all

Don't really get that either, they won their opening matches. Serral didn't really get to show much. Until the 5th round sOs' series won't be that interesting anymore, but in the 5th round Serral plays TY which they probably want on main desperately.
Except for the final series of a group, all games are predetermined to help guide production.
