The hate towards Serral is simply pathetic; those sore losers will not get over the fact Serral actually was the best and most accomplished player last year beating the korean Élite. Maybe they could have digested it better if it was just Stats or Classic, impressive yet underrated champions who play the "wrong" race; the filthy foreigner abhuman instead dared to rob the latest hope of the truly skilled and thus deserves to be mindlessly hated forever the way cheaters and matchfixers are.
There would be appropriate ways to criticize Serral's relatively subpar 2019, like the fact he lost in every matchup and that he is, at once, losing every final set of the series just as he was undeafeated at in 2018; they instead prefer to resort to irritating and false concepts like "patchzerg"(if Team Liquid's writers would ever decide to make an article about Serral NOT being a patchzerg, quite the opposite instead, I think some of my previous posts could be of use).
It is also impressive how vocal those people are, evidence suggests they are aren't that many yet the volume of their posts on this forum would make anyone think they are an overbearing majority.

SC2 has always been a reasonably volatile game where you have a bunch of top tier players, any of whom can conceivably win a tournament.
His 2019 is probably underrated, and the margins are pretty small as you say. He’s lost to what soO and Inno and Reynor?
The first, great player. As per my previous point most knowledgeable StarCraft fans still considered him one of the absolute best even when he was turning silver medals into a meme, because his consistency in getting there was amazing. Innovation usually floats around and has periods where he’s the best player in the world, then has slumps, then comes back etc. Reynor is an ever improving player who’s already shown he can do well vs S class Koreans.
There isn’t a player in the scene that can win with the consistency of 2018 Serral, and some of that was vs lower opposition. Taeja used to be able to do it for a summer at a stretch, but only in weekend tournaments.
Serral’s obviously at the top table of the game, sadly SC2 has the same problem professional boxing does, where the fans want the best of the best to fight more often, but it just doesn’t happen enough.
Appraisal of him anywhere between the two extremes of patchzerg or GOAT would be nice

This is obvious smurfing. Who's behind that ? Deacon, Boggyb, mariano, charoisure, starkiller, Dieucure ? Or another self entilted white knight fighting for the purity of the game ? Anyway so brave and what a toxic community. It's quite tiring to face a bunch of haters trolling in every threads of tournaments including a specific player. I bet I'll be warned or banned for this post but seeing continiously this kind of behavior is really triggering.

Or being in almost every final of 2018. You want objective look at Serral? Maybe start at yourself and do the same for Koreans.

Imagine winning two tournaments (that featured at least other top 10 players) and that being called the greatest consistency of anyone in the scene.
Remember when Rogue won four korean weekenders in a row? Remember when Maru won three (maybe four or more) Code S in a row? Guess not.

Unfortunate to see Serral lose, and that the arguments about him getting even dumber.
Well, hopefully Serral will improve from this.

Patch zerg defetead by another patch zerg.
On a serious note, Serral is a beast even when he loses. He brought the final to a game 7 where 1 evo and perhaps 1 spine made the difference. Reynor clean, crisp, deceptive in game 7 but a bit shaken in 3 and 4. Great finals, looking forward to see how Serral and Reynor will do this year. Ps. Who would have thought that ravager, ling bane is the answer to battle mech.

I can see how ordinary people on the forum on the internetz(!!) can and will forget this. But a professional caster who does this repeatadly and si NOT corrected by his co-caster, that's a shame and I will be writing about it every time.

My point wasn’t that other players can’t match Serral for consistency, but that it’s not possible for Korean players to have an unbeaten 2018 like he did, so for it to be held up as a high water mark that they haven’t hit is silly, I even say that It was boosted by having lower opposition in some of those wins. Where I wrote ‘his 2019 is probably underrated’ it followed me saying ‘His 2018 is probably overrated’, which I decided to delete because I thought it would get jumped on and derail from what else I was saying.
Rogue going on a tear was during my hiatus, Maru’s GSL tear too, although I was aware of the latter and have seen those VODs at least. I probably have to get checking weekenders for that period at some point as well.
I’m not sure why that’s being focused on in a post where I say there’s a top tier of great players and bemoan that they don’t play enough.
It’s a shame that Serral’s peak is now when the volume of SC2 tournies has declined a bit. As long as people keep it respectful and don’t become complete idiots having a foreign hope does drive up the hype a tad.

Dont You guys think afterwards there should be final match AM First place vs EU First place (or even better third vs third, second vs second and first vs first) a little bit of continental rivarly should bring lot of emotions of both sides of Atlantic.

serral's hater should be thankful, he brings viewers in, keeps the game alive. we need more younger players to make the competition fierce and not stale. think about it

Every Serral fanboy ever (besides Dave maybe) applauds to the brilliance of Maru, Classic and soO. It really is just blind Korean fanatism to not see that

I may be wrong, but I don't remember Serral "fanboys" swarming live reports of series where your favourite koreans player lost mass commenting how overrated they are, how much do they suck and how vain are their accomplishments the way you guys do when he loses. I have seen GOAT calls and veneration that, I agree, can be irritating but no way close to this level of toxicity.
