possible Neeb vs Serral Finals

That would butthurt so many ppl here... I love it!

You think so? Honestly at this point Serral going out early would probably rustle the most jimmies.

That would be disappointing but not entirely unexpected after IEM, not to mention he was(is?) ill.

A final without koreans in a tournament starring Maru, Inno and Dark would cause many livers to explode, on the other hand.

Out of these 3 only Dark is a stellar player. Maru looks in slump and Inno is nowhere near is championship material. While Neeb appears to be in somewhat good form and Serral is slumping, but considering his match against soO he still can play ZvZ. It shouldn't surprise anyone if Neeb advances through and Dark wouldn't beat Serral in ZvZ.

So, no?

What would be annoying - all the foreign fanboys writing about it everywhere all the time. Similarly to that BO1 victory of Serral etc.

So, would the finals without Korean be the reason or all the people trying to piss other people? ...

Edit> Unless you go by names, obviously. But that would be silly. If you would go by names and randomly placed into the play off Flash, Rain and Soulkey, everyone would be thinking that the finals have to be Rain v Flash. While they're godlike in BW and they were really fucking amazing in SC2(well, Flash slightly less, shots fired ), nowadays they have just their names in SC2 and their legacy. Nothing more, I believe all of them would lost.

No offense to these players. Also if SK sucks in BW, find me another SC/BW example, please

Serral is in a slump?
Since when?

I mean if he is in a slump why is Dark not in a slump?
He only went a round further then Serral at IEM with the same score in the group stage and had arguably an easier opponent then Serral, he also lost vs a guy Serral beat multiples times.
And in this tournament sure he had a 5-0 and not a 4-1 but he also had an easier group and dropped 2 maps just like Serral.
So I don't really get how you can say that Dark is "stellar" and that Serral is "slumping" when they have had pretty much the same results. He did have his GSL matches but I don't feel like going 4-1 vs Trust and Dear is enough to say that he had results significantly different from Serral.

Maybe he meant that Serral and Maru are slumping for their standards (which they set last year when they won almost everything important they could).
So while these 2 are "slumping" a bit, Dark keeps his standard of not winning anything but always looking very dangerous?

I have to admit the first part of your post is absolute gold.

I agree that one has to properly take into consideration reasonably recent results, fame isn't really relevant when it comes to actual play.

To answer your question, the idea foreigners suck strongly lingers in the minds of many lurking or posting here on Team Liquid. Despite being such a nasty belief, it had its reasons to exist back in HoTS; that's not the case anymore, even if obviously koreans are still stronger players on average.

The mere fact Serral and Neeb(the ones who most likely could play a non korean final) were not born in Korea would generate whole plains of salt, regardless of their objectively very high level of play, if both of them would reach WESG's finals; I don't see it happening, in any of case.

Nonsense, many TL readers are acknowledging Serral. It's a little bit complicated for Neeb as he's not as stable as Serral but his RO4 road was impressive nontheless. It's just your imagination.

Yes, exactly what I meant.
I imagine France should be able to take this unless Lilbow is busy practicing for Starcraft III. | KadaverBB is my fairy ban mother.

Well this bracket is pretty obvious. Serral vs Inno finals with easy Inno win.
Its a shame that Serral got such an easy bracket (Dark ZvZ not good enough, Scarlett will choke as usual) and Inno + Maru are on the same side. There is just no way Maru gets past Inno. TBH with his current form he will probably have trouble getting past Neeb :D

Man, the unstoppable Innovation you are depicting crashed 0-4 of IEM groupstages before winning 2-1("Inno easy") against Serral in match worth $200 just ten days ago.

Inno has a good shot to the finals and a chanche of winning the event; however, I need to inform you it's not March 2013 as you seem to think judging by your comments.

Obviously I am triggering Serral fanboys a bit with such comments (I can admit he is a top top player), but the fact that Inno dismantled and stomped Serral in super late game is an undeniable fact which no amount of deluded fanboy-ism can change And it was on official offline match on a big tournament, does not really matter what were the circumstances and how much Innovation screwed up previously

That game was the definition of a nail biter and could have gone either way for a very long time.

You really need to google words like "dismantled" and "stomped"

MarianoSC2 basically admitted in his comment that he uses these words to trigger a subset of sc2-fans, so don't take him seriously (as he doesn't do so himself)!
