This discussion is completely pointless. Unless you can read his mind you have no idea if he gave 100% or not so stop throwing around baseless accusations.
Many of the coolest moments in sc2 happen due to worker harassment

Is the consensus of TL the every time Maru loses he was not really trying because he does not care to win tournaments all the time? He does not like money?

People always make the money argument whenever progamers don't seem to try very hard at something. Do you really think every progamer always puts their all into every match and tournament? Because there's almost always money on the line.

Terrible, isn't it? All that price money the pros don't care to win. Too much money in WCS Korea, they should cut it until we get properly motivated pros and cutthroat matches.

I think you missed you point a little.

Yeah, possibly. However, with limited high stake tournaments per year, you'd think that pros would actually care about those. If USD 150 is on line it is a different story.

I'd like to think that progamers always do their best in tourneys they have accepted to play in, because they are pros and that is professional thing to do. I'd hate to think that progamers are not doing their best for whatever reason it might be, or even worse, for really bad reasons such as they are facing team mates that need points to qualify for blizzcon. That makes a sham of the whole tourney.

It is a discussion on a basic principle. Though I agree, we only have Rodya's statement for discussing this particular match. Haven't seen any references to back up those statements so far.

You have to look at it differently, matchfixing accusations aside it seems clear that players do no prepare for everything exactly the same. Before a gsl finals one would probably do the extra hours of training and theory crafting and thinking about the game, etc to get every advantage you can. That doesn't mean that players do not try to win every game they play, but the effort put into it before might differ and that also influences the outcome ofc.
With that being said, while maru won 3 code s this year he obviously is not invincible either, i will say this again and again but i don't think he is the flash of sc2, but that says more about flash than about maru who is still the favorite against anyone imo.
So just using it as an excuse is somewhat lazy, but there surely is some truth to it still, maru even said what his priorities are. Doesn't mean he didn't give a fuck at all obviously, people paint this way too binary.

If you think about it, there is no reason to assume that Maru lost for the team's sake. It doesn't matter how many more points sOs gets. The most important thing is prevent Solar from winning the tournament. And Maru probably is more favored against Solar than sOs.

Also, the demand that players should always give 100% is just delusional. This doesn't have to be an intentional thing but it's clear that almost everybody would try harder if the win is more important for him/her.

Also we don't know what mindgames are going on between sOs and Maru. We saw creator dealing great with TY's proxies, probably because he has the best practice in that regard because of Maru. Same goes for sOs, probably. So maybe Maru tried to play around his typical playstyle in order to don't play in sOs' cards. But then Maru gets on unaccustomed ground - which typically is a good thing for sOs.
Furthermore, I consider that some kind of Code A must be reestablished.

https://korizon.net/interview-with-jin-air-green-wings-head-coach-cha-jihoon-i-dont-think-that-working-hard-and-practicing-are-enough-to-become-a-progamer-you-need-a-bit-of-talent/

How is it when Jin Air players have to play against each other?

In case of these “team kill”, they don’t play together to prepare and other teammates don’t interfere. They have to figure it out by themselves. This way, it isn’t uncomfortable.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not surprising teamkill games are wonky as fuck.
sOs is love, sOs is life // the only reason I'm in copper is because protoss OP, I would've won GSL if david kim did his job.
