herO is super hard to predict. He failed to qualify for GSL season 2 but then qualified for the super tournament which should have been harder then followed that up by finishing top 4. He's had some pretty good online results and a couple of stinkers.

For some reason I think if herO gets to play vs GuMiho in the last match he wins 2-0 and if he plays Solar he loses 2-0. Not really sure why

Are they going to cast it? It would be weird to fly them out to Spain to cast only part of the tournament.

Yeah, it's a race against time, the WCS broadcast stopped after 9pm CEST and GSL starts at 6am CEST, they have under 9 hours to make the flight halfway across the world. Probably need to get their make-up done during the flight.

Gumiho had the third base running for too long before MMA got his up, the economic advantage pushed him through.

It seems like MMA is still really really good, he just needs to get more used to the "new" units. The cyclones really messed him up. But that second game was a thing of beauty.

Hero is keeping the parts of his build that worked last time (adepts and phoenix) and getting rid of the parts that didn't (oracles)

Losing to proxy 2-gates over and over addled his mind. Though while he was no sOs I don't recall him being the epitome of standard even in HotS.

Losing to proxy 2-gates over and over addled his mind. Though while he was no sOs.

This is exactly the conversation that just went through my brain.

Maybe being the clear cut ace for CJ Entus for so long caused him to play more defensively/safer. Although he was never really a Rain type imo.

Gumiho must be so sad. He thought he was way ahead. That is the worst way to lose: a hidden gold base.

A rather ugly game. Having a gold base forgives a lot of mistakes.

Brainfart from Gumiho there, checking all of the other locations except for the gold.

Ok, so if herO doesn't get a free gold base in the next game, how is his sloppy control going to hold up?

I'm surprised it took protoss so long to realize how good storm is.
Delaying double forge for a super fast storm hard counters 2 base bio so much its not even funny.

Nah against continuous cyclones they run out of power too fast. It's basically a build order loss without a robo.

That build is pretty genius cos everyone walls off that reaper spot meaning you're basically guaranteed to kill the building there, which is usually the cyber core, and sometimes it's the first gateway or the SG/tech building. It would be a beneficial snipe in all those scenarios.

Would cyclones in that combination have been effective, especially against the mutas?

Not vs that many mutas. Cyclones suck vs a lot of air units that do dmg fast, aka mutas.

If this build gains traction then maybe, but otherwise it is pretty risky because it makes proxy reaper a lot stronger which is still a fairly common build. It might make sense though since you can survive proxy reaper without the wall (altho it would be much harder), but idk if you can survive this build if you put your building there (hard to say though since this is the first time i've seen it).

I think you can if you go straight for the robo.

edit: Also the echoes of Korean casting in the background are incredibly distracting.

MMA was using an outdated comp. Hellbat/Tank/Thor/Viking was pretty good last year, before PB got massively buffed to 120 damage.

10 more hp on Vikings doesn't really make a difference when PB does 60 more damage

Just got done watching the replays. I will admit, NoRegret has greatly improved his casting. I didn't like his castings at first because he was so biased towards Zerg and would constantly say, "well, Zerg would be winning this fight if he had more units." It was so annoying. I am a Terran player and usually root for them when I watch Korean tournaments but I would never be a caster that constantly expressed favoritism towards my race. Everyone has their preference on which race they like. Hearing NoRegret's commentary today was enjoyable and fun to watch.
Man, I miss how dominant seige tanks were in SC1. Wish they would bring that back in SC2
