You could say using it is a.... double-edged sword

His group is really, really easy. The only threat is INnoVation, and maybe Patience (no one can really predict Patience's form because he is so inconsistent, but he didn't even qualify for code S, so...).

Neither of the two using it correctly is the actual double-edged sword.
why even

Not in the sense of the expression since it is two negatives without a positive.

well, I don't agree.

Snute's group has one player I would consider "weak" relative to the rest of the player pool in the tournament. Most of the other groups have 2 or 3.

Snute's group also has 6 players I wouldn't be super surprised making top 2 in a group. The other groups have 3 or 4 such players.

edit: nevermind, take 1 away from all my numbers, uthermal is playing protoss. (wtf?)

anyways still think it is a tough group

Thats what we call a triple-edged sword.
I used to play random, but for you I play very specifically.

I think you're seriously overestimating a just unretired FanTaSy, a Protoss uThermal, and PartinG.
PartinG might have qualified for Code S but if you see him play, he's clearly not back anywhere close to his old level.
Anyway, I guess we just disagree

I didn't notice uthermal playing protoss made an edit there.

and I consider fantasy to likely be the 2nd weakest player in the group

Parting I think is perfectly capable, however. But - you may be right - I could be off about how good parting is.

Have the tie breakers been detailed somewhere?

I feel like this group ends with:
Lambo 6-1
Harstem 5-2
Stephano 5-2
Zest 5-2

Zest has the best map stats if it comes to that.

Definitely think Inno, Snute, Zanster are top 3 in that group. Parting/Patience are also up there, but the group isn't that hard imo.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Yeah i think Snute should be able to easily make top 2 in this group. Patience is always a wildcard and could either stomp or crumble. the remainder of the group (besides Inno) is extremely doable for Snute.

Should just be head-to-head to determine tiebreak

People who play Swarmhosts against Protoss are willing to engage in cannibalism according to Snute.

You can't go head-to-head for a 3-player tie. They'd all likely end 1-1 against each other.

The question is if they go to map score to determine 2nd then look at head-to-head for 3rd and 4th or if they just seed by map score.

I feel like Zest's PvT is a lot better than Harstem's. Practicing extensively for 2 bests of 7 and all.

I gotta say, round robin format with large groups like this is amazing and refreshing. Love the quantity of games and the fairness to the players who traveled far to compete.

It is less fun for Group B players who will probably be starting an hour later.
