It's really showcasing the worst aspects of the game in full force I kinda fear you're right. I hope you're not, but I don't see how SC2 in Korea can really survive much longer. the same way BW did, the finals have almost 20k people watching just abroad. You people need to stop with that childish mentality of shouting dead game whenever your favorite esport isn't #1. SC2 isn't going to disappear day to day because someone warped in fucking adepts. SC2 isn't #1, but it also isn't #2, #3, #4, or even #5. CS:GO, LoL, Dota, Overwatch, and Hearthstone are all way more popular than SC2. Adepts just show why this game failed: blind design and blind balance. What does adepts to do with the numbers? You comparing other genres with RTS, which is not the most played genre? LoL, CS:GO, Dota, Overwatch are all team based games, which are also easier to play. Nothing to do with the "balance" of the game. The BW event before this had as many viewers as the GSL finals, and BW is still and RTS. If BW is still popular despite being nearly 20 years old then there isn't a problem with RTS games, there's a problem with SC2. So there is a problem with vs fighting games because SSBM is still popular in spite of being 16yo? SFV, Tekken, Marvel vs Capcom, and Smash 4 all seem to be doing fine, while SC2 is the only RTS game that's reasonably popular. there's something weird going on with SF5 tho, the Japanese seem to have disappeared

broodwar fans have a bigger purchasing power than starcraft 2 fans.

capcom tried to make SF5 really international but failed hard, and the game went out in arcade in japan only recently (which is an infamy)
