Inb4 "It's also foolish to judge their competitiveness on a couple of bo3s" at this point i've been told not draw any conclusions from any starcraft game ever so idk anymore The point is that we didn't see foreigners get stomped universally. We saw Showtime advance first out of a group with Byun and Dear, we saw Elazer and Nerchio beat SSL champ Solar, Neeb has already proven that he can compete with the best and showed that again this tournament. On the whole this tournament showed that foreigners can compete against the best Koreans; they might not be able to win the whole thing but they can be competitive. And with a lucky draw, they could even win. If that's the progress in one year, then next year looks like things will be close to even -- especially if SC2 in Korea keeps crumbling. So? There always were foreigners who could compete against top koreans based on matchup, etc. Yes, but never on this scale. What scale are we talking about here exactly? Do we still have the same amount of top tier koreans? I stay by what i have said, foreigners got better (the scene as a whole) but koreans also got worse (the scene as a whole) Compared to 2014 that is Still remember back when HoTS released and Innovation was crushing zergs left and right, hopefully Byun can show me that in the finals tonight.
That guy was insane and 10 times better than Byun is today.

Maybe they can extend the finals to bo19 then Stats took 3 maps off him out of 9 in October. I don't think it will be that easy for Byun

He loves to bring up his Snute example despite Snute losing 6-7 straight bo3s/bo5s before/after his two wins over Classic/Rain (in bo3s). So? Neeb also lost as far as i can see. Elazer as well. The point is that there always were foreigners who could *sometimes* compete against top tier koreans based on matchup, etc Now we had some foreigners do the same. People overhype this "foreigners can compete" narrative, especially because how many foreigners actually are on that lvl now?

I wish they would get some ASUS ROG or Nvidia commercials. I can't handle one more WoW or Overwatch commercial
