Game 1:
No-one is willing to take a head-on engagement because of attacker's advantage in TvT.
There were a total of 3 'base trade' type scenarios in this game.

In a universe where tanks are faster than marines, they can get into positions and relocate before the marines are there to defend properly. Tanks also out range marines, so chasing a tankivac with only marines is a disaster.

The entirety of a fight is based on the tankivac positioning, the only purpose of the marines is to serve as a defensive buffer for the tanks and prevent them from being dropped directly onto.

The nuance of TvT is gone. Fuck tankivacs.

Game 2:

Tankivacs represent guarenteed damage. At ~9 minutes Byun drops TY's nat and gets 9 SCVs for a few marines. The damage occurred in the time it took 2 tank shots to go off. The tank got away no problem even though it was dropped in regular form.

Byun is in the lame corner on sejong, and instead of taking the time to wrap his position, TY is forced to base trade. If he did wrap, the tankivacs would ensure that a good portion of Byun's army would survive and he'd stand a better chance of defending the counter.

12:30 byun didnt have to lose any units there but he made a mistake.

15:30 this is so unbelievably stupid how he takes the position of that choke hold. There is no way to punish the repositioning of the tanks. So what do you have to do? Base trade.

Fuck tankivacs.
